ADJUSTABLE SHADE AND CURTAINLPOLE sUrronrIIve BnAcKET.
Application filed October 11,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ELIsrIA T. SHEPPARD,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Stonega, in the county of Wise and State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Shade and Curtain-Pole Supporting Brackets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to adjustable shade and curtain pole supporting brackets, and has for its object to provide a simple, compact, and efiicient construction and arrangement of parts adapted particularly for use under conditions making it desirable to use brackets on windows of diiferent widths.
Vith these and other objects in view, the present invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and finally pointed out in the appended claims, it being further understood that changes in the specific structure shown and described may be made within the scope of the claims without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views: V
Figure 1 shows a front view of an adjustable shade holder and curtain pole support ing bracket embodying my invention. 1
Fig. 2 is a top view.
Fig. 3 an end view.
In the accompanying drawings 1, designates the lower supporting bar made of flat sheet metal which at its inner end terminates in the two clasping lugs 2,2, suitably fixed to the bar, and at the outer end has fixed to it an outstanding shade supporting ear 3, having the slot a, to hold the end of the curtain fixture. As shown in Fig. 2, there is a slight offset 6 at the ear end, while. held on the pivot 41, is the right angular pole supporting bracket 5,- ending in the 1 pole hook, 6 which has the pin 7 pivotally supporting the S-shaped hook 8 having the top ear 9, this hook 8' forming an annulus in connection with the hook 6 as shown in Fig. 3.
Held on the bolt 10, passing through, the bar 1, and the bracket 5, is the hanger 11, ending in the stop shoulder 12having the supporting Specification of Letters Patent. Pate ted Aug. 31, 1920.
1919. Serial No. 330,084.
Held below the clasping lugs 2, 2, is a V counterpart fiat upper bar 16 which at its outer end terminates in the outstanding shade supporting ear'3, offset as at I), while fixed to the pivot 4, is the counterpart rightangular bracket 5, ending in the hook 6 and held in position by means of the bolt 7, isthe counterpart s-shaped hoog 8 operating and constructed as is the hook 8.
As shown a counterpart hanger 10 is also employed.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the drawings, the construction and -operation'of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.
Various. changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention as claimed. v
Having thus described my said invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by United States Letters'Patent is:
1. In combination, a lower flat bar terminating atone end in two clasping lugs and at the other in an outstanding shade supporting car, a rightangular bracket ending in a pole supporting hook held to said a bolt passingthrough said bar and bracket, a counterpart fiat upper bar held below said clasping lugs, at one end and having an outstanding shade supporting car, a counterpart rightangular bracket ending in a pole supporting hook held to said bar, a bolt passing through said last bar and bracket, a hanger held to eachof said bolts ending in a rightangular supporting shoul- V ably connected.
2. In combination, a lower flat bar terminatingat one end in two clasping lugs and a bolt passing through said bar and bracket, I
a counterpart flat upper bar held below said clasping lugs, at one end and having an outder, and means wherebysaid bars are adjuststanding shade supporting ear, a counterpassing through said last bar and bracket,
a hanger held to each of said bolts ending in a rightangular supporting shoulder, a pinch collar surroundingsaid two bars, and
an Sshaped hook having a stop shoulder pivotally held to the end of each of said supporting hooks. I 10 In testimony whereof, I, afix my signature. o
