To all whom "it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN WHELAN FLYNN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Wilkinsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window-Brackets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to window brackets, and the objects of my invention are, first, to provide novel brackets for supporting two rods or tubes at the upper end of a window frame; second, to provide novel means for detachably holding the rods in engagement with the brackets; and third, to provide simple, and durable brackets for supporting our tains, or draperies.

The above objects are attained by brackets designed to support two parallel horizontal rods or tubes, permitting of curtains or draperies being arranged to present a neat appearance in connection with a window frame, doorway, or alcove.

The invention will be hereinafter considered in detail and then specifically pointed out in the appended claims, and reference will now be had to the drawings forming part of this application, wherein there is illu trated a preferred embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that the struc tural elements thereof can be varied or changed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a portion of a window frame provided with the improved bracket, Fig. 2 is a plan of one of the brackets, and Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the same.

Each bracket comprises a horizontal memher 1 and an angularly disposed member 2. One end of the member 1 is bent upwardly, as at 3, whereby said member can be secured to a window frame 4 by a screw 5 or similar fastening means. The opposite end of the member 1 is bent to provide a hook-shaped support 6, and said support is provided with a screw 7 for retaining a tube or rod 8 upon the support. The member 1 intermediate the ends thereof is bent to provide a socket 9 for Specification of Letters Patent.

Pivotally mounted upon the member 1 adjacent to said. socket is a clip 11 having a slot 12 formed therein for a pin or keeper 13 carried by the member 1, upon the opposite side of the socket 9, from the pivoted end of the clip. The clip 11 is provided with a vertical screw 14 for engaging the rod or tube 1.0 and in conjunction with the clip 11, retain the rod or tube 10 in the socket 9.

The angularly disposed member 2 has one end thereof bent, as at 15 in order that said member can be secured to the frame 4 by a screw 16 or similar fastening means, while the opposite end of member 2 is bent, as at 17 and riveted or otherwise secured, as at 18, to the support 6 of the member 1.

The brackets are preferably secured to the frame 1 adjacent to the cornice pieces thereof, and upon the rods or tubes 8 and 10 can be arranged loops 19 or draperies 20.

The brackets can be made of light and durable malleable metal, finished to harmonize with the window frame or doorway frame in connection with which the same are used.

Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, is

1. A bracket comprising a horizontal member, said member having one end thereof bent to provide a rod or tube support, a screw carried by the support end of said member for retaining a rod or tube in engagement therewith, said member being bent to provide a socket for a rod or tube, a clip pivotally mounted upon said member for closing said socket, a screw carried by said clip for holding a rod or tube within said socket, and an angularly disposed member connected with the supported end of said horizontal member substantially as, and for the purpose described.
