Description

March 8 1927.
F. F. NEAL MONEY CHANGER HOLDER Filed July 26, 1926 INVENTOR F F NEAL BY vo ATTORNEYS Patented Mar. 8, 1927.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFHCE.
FRANK F. NEAL, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF T0 FRANK W. NEAL, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
MONEY-CHANGER HOLDER.
Application filed July as, 1926. Serial No. 125,012.
My invention relates to improvements in money changer holders, and it consists in the combinations, constructions, and arrangements herein described and claimed.
An ob]ect of my invention is to provide a money changer holder which is adjustable, and which may firmly hold the changer in a fixed position, thus obviating the necessity of the user constantly holding the changer in place with one hand as he walks or stoops or bends his body in any manner.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described which protects the clothing of the user.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of thetype described in which the money changer is held in the center as well as at each end.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described in which the money changer may readily be removed from the holder, and the holder readily removed from the user.
Other objects and advantages will appear in the following specification, and the novel features of the invention will be particularly pointed out in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, forming part of this applicat'on, in Which Figure 1 is a plan view of the device, a portion thereof being broken away, and
Figure 2 is a section along the line 22 of Figure 1.
In carrying out my invention, I make use i of a money changer 1 having rods 2 and 3 disposed ateach end thereof, as clearly shown in Figure 1. An outwardly extending flange 4 extends between the rods 2 and 1 provide a guard 5 which is rectangular in shape and preferably formed of leather. T he guard 5 is provided with elongated slots (3 and 7 which are positioned at each end and substantially adjacent the upper edge thereof. A strap 8 is secured at its mid point to the guard 5 by means of a fastener 9. An end 10 of the strap is passed around the rod 2 and is secured to the body portion of the strap by means of a fastener 11. The other end 12 of the strap 8 is passed around the rod 3 and is secured to the body portion of the strap by means of a fastener 13.
A belt is provided having substantially identical parts 1 1 and 15. These parts are secured together by means of a buckle 16..
and the buckle again placed together. The
parts 14L and 15 may be adjusted by moving the adjustable catches 18 to any desired position. The guard 5 is positioned between the meta parts of the money changer and the clothes of the user, and in this manner, the clothes are protected. The substantially wide belt i'irmly holds the money changer and the guard in a predetermined position, irrespective of the position of the user.
The money changer may be removed from the user in various ways, such as separating the buckle 1G, or releasing the ends 17 of the parts 14; and 15 from the catches 18 and from the rods 2 and 3. The guard 5 may now be removed from the strap 8 by separating the fastener 9. It is obvious that the guard and the strap 8 may be removed together by releasing the ends 10 and 12.
The guard 5 serves also the purpose of a pad for preventing the money changer from coming forcibly in contact with the body of the user.
I claim:
The combination with a money changer having rods disposed at each end thereof, of a money changer holder comprising a strap having its ends removably secured to said rods, a guard removably secured to said strap and having relatively large elongated slots in each end thereof, a belt having two substantially identical parts secured together by a buckle, and adjustable catches disposed upon each of'said parts, thefree ends of said parts being passed around said rods through said openings and removably secured to said catches.
