This invention relates to an improvement in clasps, and more particularly to an improvement in clasps for barbers hair cloths which may be employed snugly to secure the cloth about the neck of one having his or her hair trimmed.

The object of the invention is to provide a clasp which may be readily actuated toclip overlapping edges of the cloth together to m facilitate securing the cloth firmly about the neck. 7

A feature of the invention resides in the structure which permits the spring arms of the clasp to be operated separately so that the clasp may remain secured to one-edge of the cloth through the medium of one arm, the other edge of the cloth being secured in position through the medium of the other spring arm of the clasp.

It is common for barbers to secure the overlapping edges of the cloth together by means of a pin. This pin upon being removed from the cloth is often placed in the users mouth while the cloth is being shaken to remove thehair and is often placed in the mouth while the cloth is being placed in position. This practice is very unsanitary and often results in the communication of disease. The clasp of the presentinvention' is designed to obviate the use of a pin and thus avoid the unsanitary practice referred to above. I

It is believed the invention will be readily understood from the detailed description 35 thereof taken in connection with the accompanying drawings in which:'

Each of the arms 15, is provided at the free end thereof with a finger piece 16, which may be formed of celluloid, pearl, or other suitable material, and which may be circular as shown in Fig. 3, or elongated as desired.

The arms, 15, are provided, intermediate the finger piece 16, and the connecting portion 14, with outwardly bent portions 17, adapted to fit within the hook or rebent portions 11, of the plate 10.

Due to the resiliency of the spring arm '15, and the fact-that the connecting portion 14, is snugly received within the bearing 13, either of'the arms 15, may be operated independently of the other and function firmly to secure the edge of the cloth within'the rebent or hook portion 11. Thus in Fig. 1, the left edge '18 of the cloth 19 is secured by the left arm 15. of the clasp while the right edge 20 of the cloth is secured by the right arm 15 of the clasp.

In practice the clasp may remain secure to the left edge of the cloth, the opposite edge of the cloth being secured in place by the right spring arm of the clasp. That is. the

clasp may be left secured to one edge of the cloth and attached to and removed from the other edge whenever the cloth is applied to or removed from the neck. 1
