GLOVE.

This invention relates to improvements in gloves.

The principal object of this invention is to produce a simple three-piece glove therea by eliminating considerable cost in the manufacture of the glove.

Another object is to produce a glove which will have the appearance of the ordinary glove and one which will be comfortable through the elimination of unnecessary seams.

Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following description.

In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same,

Figure 1 is-a front portion of the glove, Figure 2 is a back portion of the glove, Figure 3 is a back finger portion, and Figure 4 is a rear view of the completed glove.

Due to the high cost of labor it is impera- 575 tive that as much saving be made in the construction of a glove as is possible, therefore, the elimination of unnecessary seams results in the quicker production of a glove with the consequent reduction in cost of manufactnre. Applicant has, therefore, devised a glove which consists of but three parts and ronsequently little stitching is required.

In the accompanying drawings wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral 5 designates a blank which forms the palm of the glove, the front of the thumb as shown at 6, a complete blank for the first finger as shown at 7, the front of the second finger as shown at 8, the front of the third finger as shown at 9 and the complete blank for the little finger as shown at 11.

In Figure 2 the numeral 12 designates a blank having a thumb portion 13 which corresponds to the back of the thumb of the completed glove. To this blank 12 is formed integral therewith as at It the material for the back of the second finger.

In Figure 3 I have shown a blank 16 which forms the back of the third finger. l i hen the parts are assembled the completed glove, as viewed from the back will present an appearance as shown in Figure l, where it will be noted that the little finger 11 is folded upon itself, as well as the first finger 7, while the portion 16 is sewed at 17 to the back piece 12 so as to complete the third finger.

It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example of the same, and that various changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be re sorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claim.

Having thus described my invention, I claim In a three-piece glove, a front piece having a thumb portion, a first finger portion adapted to be folded upon itself, a second finger portion, a third finger portion, a little finger portion adapted to be folded upon itself, the edge of the front piece being inwardly curved from the little finger portion to the wrist, a back piece having a second finger portion, a thumb portion and adapt ed to be secured to said front piece in such a manner as to coincide with the thumb portion of said front piece, and the second finger portion of said front piece, and a third piece adapted to be attached to the third finger portion of said front piece and to said back piece, for the purpose specified.
