Vith a view to providing for the detach able connection of the sections, one section is slotted or otherwise formed to receive the other section whereby the sections may be locked together. In this particular construction, the foot section 10 is provided with a T-shaped slot 12 located in the heel part and the leg section with a head 13 shaped for insertion through the slot 12. As will be observed, the head 13 is connected to the body of the leg section by a neck which may be turned in the slot 12 to effect the looking, of; the sections. In positioning the form in a sock 17 a simple method consists of drawing the leg portion of the sock over the foot portion and then inserting the foot section 10. After the foot section has been properly positioned, the head of the leg section is inserted through the slot 12 and turned through an angle of 90, locking the head in engagement with the foot section. The leg portion of the sock is then drawn upward over the leg section 11. When the form has been inserted in the sock 17 as shown in Fig. 3,

the connected ends of the sections engage the sock which cooperates to maintain'the connection. Since the sections are loosely connected near the heel part, they swing apart under the influence of the weight of the foot section and the action of the sock when the form is suspended from a support. lhis moves the crossed ends away from one another so that the head of the leg section forms an acute angle with the body of the foot section, and the sock tends to retain the head in this position making it ditii cult to turn the head through a sufiicient angle to release it.

The removal of the form may be readily accomplished by setting the sections substantially at right angles to one another and then unlocking the leg section by rotating it through 90. After the leg section has been detached the foot section may be with drawn.

Generally, difiiculty is experienced in retaining the heel portions of socks the proper size, but withthis type of form the crossed ends at the heel part give the heel of the sock the required size.

Since certainchanges may be made in the above construction and different embodiments of the invention could be made without departing from the scope thereof, it is intended that all matter contained in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawing shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

It is also to be understood that the following claims are intended to cover all of the generic and specific features of the invention herein described, and all statements of the scope of the invention, which, as a matter of language, might be said to fall therebetween.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. A. form adapted to give socks-and the like a predetermined size and shape comprising in combination, a foot section and a leg section for insertion into a sock, one of said'sections being adapted to receive and engage the other section to effect deneoaove tachable connection of the sections, said sections having their engaging portions arranged to project and cooperate in stretching the heel portion of the sock.

2. A form adapted to give socks and the like a predetermined size and shape comprising in combination, a foot section and a leg section for insertion into a sock, one of said sections having an opening therein, the other section being provided with a head for insertion through said opening to detachably connect the sections, said sections having their engaging portions each arranged to project beyond the other and adapted to cooperate in stretching the heel portion of the sock.

3. A form adapted to give socks and the like a predetermined size and shape comprising in combination, a foot section and an independent leg section having a head adapted for locking engagement with said foot section and for insertion into a sock, the sock being engaged by the head and cooperating to maintain the locking connection;

4. A form adapted't-o give socks and the like a predetermined size and shape comprising in combination, a foot section and a leg section for insertion into a sock, said sections being adapted to be detachably connected, the sections at the point of connection extending beyond one another presenting ends which engage the sock whereby said sock cooperates to maintain the connection.

5. A form adapted to give socks and the like a predetermined size and shape com: prising in combination, a perforated .foot section and a perforated leg section for insertion into socks and stockings, one of said sections having a slot, the other section being provided with a head for insertion through the slot to detachably connect the sections, the article being stretched cooperating to maintain the sections connected, said leg section having a notch cut therei forming a hook for suspending the form from a support.
