L. BECKER SANITARY TOILET SEAT COVER Filed Feb. 9, 1924 INVENTOR 53m BMW) Patented July 13, 1926.
LOUIS BECKER, E BROoxLYN NEw YORK.
SANITARY TOILET-SEAT COVER.
Application filed February 9, 1924. Serial No. 691,553.
1 This invention relates to a sanitary cover for toilet seats, the invention having for an object the provision of a cheap form of cover piwhich a supply may be kept on hand 6 for-individual use, a further object relating tothe provision of means for holding the cover on the seat, and also for retaining the cover in folded position prior to use.
For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, and to the appended claim in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularlyset forth. i
Fig. 1 of the drawing is :1 Ian view showing one form of my improve sanitary cover.
. a Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view showing the cover in place on the seat.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the cover folded.
Fig. 5 is a plan view showing a'modified' shape of cover.
In constructing my improved sanitary seat I form a flat'a'nnulus of suitable shape and size and which is preferably constructed of four parts or sections 10 which are joined together at their adjacent ends. This annulus may be constructed of waxed paper, 7 or other suitably stifi'ened paper. As here shown thesesections are of cardboard and they arejoined at their ends, to produce flexible jolnts, by means of the strips 11 of paper pasted upon the adjacent ends.- If desired the annulus might be of one piece and suitably indented to fold in the form shown in Fig. 4. e
As shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing the seat indicated at 15,'may be provided on opposlte sides with the spring clips or fingers the hook.
of the hook 18 which is adapted to engage the opposite edge when the cover is folded, said last named edge having therein a notch 20 through which the beak of the hook may be passed when the parts are being arranged in this position or are being extended, the hook being swung to the sideof this notch as shown to hold the parts folded.
In Fig. 5 I have shown the cover 22 as of generally horseshoe shape.
As will be apparent from the above description I have provided a sanitary seatcovering which is of cheap construction and which can readily be applied to the seat as desired.
Having thus described my invention, what] I claimas new and desire to protect by Letters Patent 'of the United States is as follows:
A sanitary toilet seat cover comprising a flat annular member formed of a series of sections adapted to be folded 'upon one another, and a hook on one section adapted to engage over the edge of the opposite section to old the cover in folded position, the last named section having a notch in. the edge thereof to permit .of passage of the beak of so In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature.
LOUIS BECKER.
