VANITY CASE.

Application filed June 6, 1925.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES NAcHnMov, a citizen of the United States of America, and aresident of the city of New York, borough of the Bronx, inthe county of Bronx and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Vanity Case, of which the following is a description.

My invention relates to vanity cases and relates more particularly to the mirror and its arrangement in the case.

The general object of my invention is to provide a vanity case in which the mirror is available without opening the case, a more specific object being to provide a vanity case and mirror assemblage in, which the mirror shows through the bottom of the case ahd is firmly held in position by members appurtenant to the body of the case.

The invention furthermore has in view to provide-a vanity case that may be pro duced at lovv cost and reflecting simplicity of construction and convenience of use.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, it being understood that the draw ings are merely illustrative of one example of the invention.

Figure 1 is an inverted plan view of a vanity case made in accordance with my invention;

Figure 2 is a plan view of the vanity case with cover in raised position;

Figure 3 is a vertical section through the vanity case with the cover closed and indicating in dotted lines a raised position of the cover.

tion, the numeral 10 indicates the body of the case; ll, the cover thereof hinged to the body at one side as at 12; and the numerals 13 and 14 indicate beaded edges on the body at the top and on the cover at the bottom to interengage and hold the cover closed.

The body 10 is in thet'orm of a ring-like shell presenting an opening 15 eatendineover the major portion of the area of the body. I would state in conclusion that while the illustrated. example constitutes a practical embodiment of my invention, I do not limit myself strictly to the exact details herein illustrated, since, manifestly, the same can be considerably varied without departure from the spirit of the invention as defined in the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention, I claim:

A vanity case comprising an open bottomed body having an annular inwardly directed flange at its lower edge, said flange having radial slits therein, defining at spaced points a plurality of bendable resilient arms disposed Within the interior of the case, a mirror framed by said flange and frictionally held by said arms.
