To all whom. z'zf may concern.:
Be it known that Vieron GUINZBURG, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the city, county, and State of New York,
have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Powder-Puff Holders, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide an easily made container or holder for a powder puff which will beV pleasing in appearance; which will be made of material which' can be kept clean and sanitary and which will retain a powder puff in a compact and sanitary condition.
may hereinafter appear, in view, have devised the particular arrangement of parts hereinafter set forth and more particularly pointed out in the claims appended hereto.v
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing forming a part hereof in which" Figure l is a perspective view ofthe body of the holder before the same is contracted to its finished condition; n
Figure 2 is aplan view ofthe completed holder, and
Figure 3 is a sect-ional view on the line 3 3 of Figure 2 looking in the direction of the arrows.
Throughout the Various views of the vdrawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts. 4.
In the preferred embodiment of my invention as disclosed in the accompanying drawing, l indicates Lthe body portion of the device which is preferably made of a single strip of expansible, impervious mate` rial such as sheet rubber or the like.
This strip is formed in tubular shape with its edges secured together by means of overstitching 2 or t-he like.l At 3 is shown-the bottom member of the device which consists of a fiat section or disk of' material which has its outeredge secured to one end of the tubular member l by means of over` stitching 4. The device when in this condition isin the form of a tubular container.
At 5 is shown a `contracting member Vwhich is located on the inner face of the body portion l midway between its ends. This mernber consists of aiat strip of material of extreme elasticity and secured on the inner face of the body portion l by meansof a line of stitching 6. v The contractingmember 5- is stitched in place' in kits stretched With these objects and other objects which or expanded condition so that when it con` tracts to its normal condition, it contracts the body portion l, providing a plurality of shirrings or gathers, adjacent thiscon` tracting member.
This contractingmember draws the body portion l together and provides a narrow ceiving chamber 8. f The expansible member 5 may be extended or expanded to permit the entrance Or Vremoval of the puff and its eiasticitycauses above the contracting member 5 forms an ornamental skirt portion, the outerfedge ofk lmouth or opening 7 leading to the puif rewhich may be suitably' ornamented in any way as bythe overstitchingQ.
j From the foregoing, .it is obvious that my invention is notto be restrictedto the exact embodiment shown. but is broad enough to cover ali structures coming within the scope of the annexed claims.
What I claim is :e- Y
