The invention will first be fully described, and' then pointed out in the claim.
Fgure 1 is a sectional elevation of a table contrived according to my inventio'n. Fig. 2 is a plan view with a part of the top broken out, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged section through one of the leg connect-ions.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represent's the table-top; B, the detachable frame fastened to the under side of the top. D represents a head-piece for connecting the legs to the table-top. E represents the legs, and F the connectngbolts. The head-pieces are,`in this example, long enough to extend across the table and serve for two legs. The legs are connected by atenon, H, fitting in a socket, I, and the head-pieces are attached to the frame B by the bolts F, which extend through them from the sockets for the tenons, and pass up to the sockets G in the upper side of the frame B for the nuts, by which they are ,screwed fast. The frame B is screwed onto the table-top in' any approved way. The bolts F may, of course, be arranged out of the sockets but in that case they would be eXposed to View, or require special means for concealing them. The posts are mounted on foot-pieces J, which receive the two legs of each end, which, together with the head-pieces, form side frames, and the two frames are connected by a stretcher, K, screwing into them by right-and-left threads, to fasten them together detachably in a simple manner.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The combination, with table-frame B, having recess above each leg, and the legs E having tenon H, of the bolts and nnts F G, and the intermediate blocks D having subjacent socket I, the said blocks being applied to table-frame and legs, all -as and for the purpose described.
