IMPROVEMENT IN EXTENSION-TABLES.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 184,580, dated November 21, 1876; application filed October 16, 1876.

To all whom it may concern: Be it known that 1, CHARLES A. BRE'IZ, 0 St. Clair, in the county of Schuylkill and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Extension-Table; and I do hereby declare thatthe following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof,

which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same,

reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which'form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to an improvement in extension tables; and it consists in the combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth, and pointed out by the claims.

On the under side of the leaves B, and in the center thereof, are secured, byany suitable means, the beveled slides c, on each side of which, and lying close thereto, are placed the heads or strapsfto allow the legs 0 to be drawn out only so far. By means of the slides c and recesses I) being beveled in opposite directions, the leaves B are firmly attached to the frame of the table.

The operation is as follows: When you desire to extend the table, raise the leaves B, and the legs 0 can then be drawn out, and the re cesses in the supports G slide over the slides 0 until stopped by the heads f.

By these means I obtain a table that is both efficient in operation and not liable to getvout of repair.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'

I. In an extension table, the permanent support D, in combination with detachable leg E, as described, and for the purpose specitied.

2. In an extension-table, the combination of the permanent support D, detachable leg E, guides F, bars a, and legs 0, all constructed and arranged'as and for the purpose set forth.
