IMPROVEMENT IN CRIB ATTACHMENTS FOR BEDSTEADS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent NO. 136,2S0, dated February 25, 1873.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, Mrs. MARYW. TAR- BELL and JOSEPH H. P. INSLEE, of Jersey City, in-the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Orib Attachment for Bedsteads, of which the following is a specification:
Figure 1 is a view of the inner or open side of our improved .crib. Fig. 2 is a vertical cross-section of the same taken through the line 00 00, Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is an end view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
Our invention has for its object to furnish an improved crib for attachment to the side rail of a bedstead which shall be simple in construction and convenient in use, and which may be conveniently and compactly folded for storage or transportation. The invention consists in the combination of the posts, the stationary side, the hinged bottom and its hooks, and the hinged ends and their hooks, with each other, in substantially the manner hereinafter fully described.
A are two legs or posts, which are connected by a board or railing, B, which forms the outer side of the crib. To the lower edge of the side B is hinged the bottom (3, which may be a board or rack, as may be desired. To the inner edge of the bottom 0 are attached two hooks, D, which are designed to be hooked over the upper edge of the side board of the bedstead, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2.
To the ends of the bottom 0 are hinged the' the crib is opened out, enter grooves a, shown in dotted lines in Fig. 3, formed in the upper parts of the posts A, to strengthen the connection between said ends and posts. The ends E are secured to the legs A by hooks F attached to said ends, and which hook into eyes attached to said legs, as shown in Fig. 2. Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of the posts A, stationary side B, hinged bottom 0, hooks D, hinged ends E e, and hooks F, with each other, in substantially the manner herein shown and described.
