Description

May 12, 1925.
G. woLLl-:NwEBER LIQUID DISPENSER Filed Aug. 1o. 1922 gwen/fof? 6,' wila/wkn Patentd May 12, 1925N PATENT OFFICE,
GAY WOLLENWEBER, .0F SAVANNAH, GEORGIA.
LIQUID DISPENSER.
Application filed August 1 0, 1922. Serial No. 580,984.
To all whom z' may concern:
Be it known that I, GAY lVoLLnNwEnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Savannah, in the county ofChatham and State of Georgia, have invented a new and useful Liquid Dispenser, of which the following is a specification This invention relates to'liquid dispensing devices, and more particularly to devices especially designed for dispensing disinfectants in liquid form.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which will operate by capillary flow, novel means being provided for regulating the How yof liquid from the container in whichv the liquid is positioned. l
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which will protect the liquid contained therein, and reduce the evaporation of the` liquid, to a minimum.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which willappear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the com-v bination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the'scope of what is claimed, without departingfrom the spirit of the invention. f
Referring-to the drawings:
The figure illustrates a sectional view through the dispenser'.
Referring to the drawings in detail, the reference character 5 designates the containerproper in which is positioned the inner receptable'G, kthat carries the cover 7 at one end thereof, which cover is designed to be positioned over the open end of the container 5 to close the same.
The receptacle G is of a diameter less than the diameter of the container 5 to provide a fluid chamber between the container and receptacle, it being understood that the repositioned in the fluid chamber, the lower end of the notched bar being tubular in' formation as indicated at 9 to accommodate the wick 10, which has its opposite endpositioned in the fluid chamber to absorb fluid therein. The `wick l0 is shown as resting on one of the shoulders 11 formed by the notched portions of the bar 8, whereby the length of the wick may be increased or decreasedfto vary the `flow, of liquid from the fluid chamber.
In use, the receptable 6 is filled with the fluid to be dispensed, and the container is positioned thereover. The device is now inverted or moved to a position as indicated by the ligure of the drawings, whereupon the fluid by capillary attraction passes through the wick and is deposited thru the tubular member 9 in drops.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed. as new is In a fluid dispensing device, a container `as .my own, I have hereto ailixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses. f y
