It is: the general obj ect lof our invention to improve theconstru'ction and operation of such devices in certain important respects thereby providing an exceedingly I s mple andefi'ective support which possesses im- ""'poi'taiit" advantages when. in use.
Witlithis' general object inview, our invention relatesparticularly to the provision of a two point support and releasingdevice mounted on the magazine in the upper portion thereof, together with improved dc- ViCOS forboth an g'ularly and vertically adjusting said support and the parts thereof.
Our invention further relates to the provision of an improved transverse guidefor the support and releasing device and to certaiu' arrangements and combinations of parts which will be liereinafter described and more particularly pointed out in the.
a magazine end frame 10 of the usual stationary type and provided with a bracket 11 by which it may be mounted in fixed position in a loom. Guides or ribs 12 are vertically disposed in the magazine and divide the magazine into a series of vertical comwnr'r-canaznn SUPPORT AND Elataisifidhsviori I Y and State 'of'Mas-' sacliusetts. have invented new and useful Vi eftF'Carner Supports and Releasing De- "sa'itl 'weft carrierilpon transis. The bracket 22 is also provided with an upward extension or web- 25 which is engaged by the head 'ofthe upper binding screw 20. This screw is threaded in the upper end of the support 18, and. may be adjusted therein to vary the position of the support 18 toward or from the Weft carrier. The screw 20 also serves as a binding screw by providing a nut 26 on the outer end thereof.
The support 18 has a laterally extending hub or bearing portion 27 in which is adjustably secured an angular rod 28, the outer end of which extends substantially parallel with the support 18 and engages the weft carrier W near the center of its length and details in reference to the operation of the stud 31 and to the actuating mechanism,"

1. In aloom having-a magazine, a weft carrier support-and releasing-device comprisinga vertically disposed member having a part extended laterally and pivoted to said inaga'zinenear thetop thereof, a two-point engaging deviceladjustably secured to the lower end of said member and engaging a weft carrier n. transfer posltion at two points on the rear s de of sa d weft carrier,
both points being spaced from the tip thereof, and a guide to preventtransverse displacement of said device.
2. In a loom having a magazine, a weft carrier support and releasing device comprising a vertically disposedmember having a part extended laterally and pivotedto said magazine near the top thereof, a two-point engaging device adjustably secured to the lower end ofsaid member and engaging a weft. ,carrierpm transfer position at two points on the rear side of said weft carrier, both points being spaced from the tip thereof, a guide to prevent-transverse displace mentof said device, and means to secure said guideto afixedportion of said magazine. said means permitting adjustment thereof axially of the weft carriers.
v3. In a'loom having a magazine, a weft carrier support and releasing device comprising a vertically disposed member having a part extended laterally and pivoted to said magazine near the center of the top thereof, and on the outer side, thereof, said laterally extended part being .oflsetnear its outer end, and r a twospointengaging device at the lower end of said member, engaging a weft carrienin transfer positionon therear side at pointsspac ed from the. tip thereof.
,e, Ina loom, a magazine, a unitaryaweft carrier support-and releasing device therefor comprising two iweftfcarrier en aging members, means to relatively angulai' ly adjust said members and secure them infixed relationto .each other, and means to adjust said members simultaneously vertically relative to said magazine. L 1
5.: Inalopm a magazine, a unitary weft carrier support and releasing device therefor comprising two weft carrier engaging members, means to relatively angularly adjust said members and secure them in fixed relation to eachother, and means to adjust said members simultaneously vertically relative .to said magazine, said latter adjustin means being also effective to vary theposition of said engaging device :toward and from ,agweft carrier-in transfer position.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto a f xed Our signatures.
