Description

SCREW DRIVER Filed Sept. 6, 1925 In VeW/OI Naif/25f Shlager' P6P 4 i Patented Nov. 25, 11924.
area era that MATTHAUS SCI-ILAGER, F LINZ, AUSTRIA.
SCREW DRIVER.
Application filed September 6, 1923.
To all whom it may cancer-n:
Be it known that I, h l'arrrrlios SC'EILAGER.
a citizen of the Republic of Austria, residing at 3 Baumbachgasse, Linz, Austria, 6) have invented new and useful. Improve ments in a Screw Driver, of which the following is a. specification.
This invention relates to imprm'ements in screw-drivers of the kind in which a screw- 1 driver blade is adapted to be inserted in a slot provided in a second scrmv-driver blade, so that the two blades cross each other preferably at a right angle.
According to the present invention the screw-driver blade, adapted to be inserted in the slotted blade, is of a rhomboidal shape whereby, on fitting both blades together a firm cooperation between the two blades is automatically effected by the rhomboidal shape of the said blade.
One mode of carrying out the present invention is shown by way of example on the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a plan view of one blade,
Fig. 2 a plan View of the other blade, and
Fig. 3 a side View of the blade illustrated in Fig. 2.
Fig. 4: shows the two blades fitted together to form the screw-driver according to the invention.
Serial No. 661,312.
The screw-driver comprises two screwdriver blades or members, 1 and 2, provided at the ends with bits or knifelike edges preferably of different width with respect to one another. The blade 1 is provided with a. slot 3 in the middle, through which the blade 2 of rhoinboidal shape may be passed (Fig. 4:). In this position the blades automatically interlock and cross each other, preferably at a right angle, and the blade which is not in use serves as a double-armed lever for turning the blade which is in use.
I claim In a screw-driver the combination with a screw-driver blade provided at both ends with a bit and with a slot in the middle, of a rhomboid-shaped screw-driver blade provided at both ends with a bit and adapted to be passed through the said slot whereby a firm cooperation between the two blades is effected by the rhomboidal shape of the blade last mentioned.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
MATTHAUS SCHLAGER.
