RENCE LAWLER, OF PIER-RE, SOUTH DAKOTA.
SUPPORTER.
Application filed December 15, 1922. Serial No. 607,165.
JAMES W. GRANDLE, OF PIERRE, SOUTH DAKOTA, ASSIGNOR F ONE-HALF TO LAW- To all whom. it may concern:
Be it known that I, James GRANDLE a citizen of the United States. residing at Pierre, in the county of Hughes and State of South Dakota, have invented new and useful Improvements in Supporters, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a supporter for hose. stockings and the like, the general ob- 10 ject of the invention being to provide a spring loop, with consistent mechanical strength, which can be easily placed upon and easily ren'ioved from the limb of the user with service and comfort considered.
Another object of the invention is to form the device of spring metal which is suitably covered to prevent injury to the person and also to add to the attractive appearance of the device.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out. in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters of reference denote like or corresponding parts in the several views and in which In the drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device.
Figure 2 is a similar view showing the hose engaging member detaohably secured to the device with parts broken away to show the interior construction.
As shown in these views the device conlimb.
place.
A tape 3 is secured to the device and the lower end of the tape bears the usual fastens" l engaging the hose.
This
tape may be detachably connected with the device as shown in Figure 2.
It will be seen that this device is extremely simple and can be easily and quickly placed in posit-ion on a limb or removed therefrom, the spring however will hold the device in place and the covering will prevent the device from injuring the person.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I. may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is 2-- A supporter of the class described comprising a spring metal strip having its ends overlapped, a strip of felt on the inner face of the metal strip, a cover enclosing the felt and metal strips, a tape having its upper end looped about the device and a fastener connected with its lower end.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
JAMES W. GRANDLE.
