KEY TAG.
Application and August 14, 192s. serial No. 657,385.
-tain new and useful improvements in Key Tags, of which the following is a specification.
In carrying out the present invention it is my purpose to provide a ta'g for attachment to keys wherein advertising means may be associated therewith for displaying to the public certain commodities on in most instances the salient features of the hostelry to which that particular key carryin the tag belongs.'
he primary object of the invention is the provision of such a tag that is extremely simple of construction and one that maybe manufactured and marketed at relatively small cost, the present tag being additionall characterized by the fact that the advertisement carr in plates may be removed and renewe W enever desirable.
The nature and advantages of the invention will be better understood when the following detailed description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, the invention residing in the construction combination and arrangement of parts as claimed.
In the drawing forming part of this aplication, like numerals of reference inicate similar parts in the several views, and wherein Figure 1 is a vtop plan view of my improved ta'g.

With particular reference to the drawing, m novel tag embodies a base plate 5, of bern or other appropriate material that is (preferably substantially diamond shape an that is provided with a removable channel metallic rim 6. As showny more clearly in Fi re 1, this rim 6 is formed around the ges of the base plate 5 and has its meeting edges formed with laterally extending ears 7 that are provided wit alined openings for the reception of a bolt and nut fastener 8.
The to surface of the base plate 5 is channelle at 9 for the reception of a substantially diamond shape advertisement bearing sheet 10, it being noticed from a consideration of Figure 1 that said sheet l() terminates at its front end slightly inwardly of the similar end' of said base plate 5.
Upon the top side of the base plate 5, and in position over the advertisement bearing sheet 10 is a substantially diamond shape strip of transparent material 1^l that is maintained in position through the medium of a metallic rim 6.
The base plate 5 adjacent its front end is provided with an opening through which extends a hollow rivet 12 the said transparent sheet 11 being also formed with an opening whereby a key ring 13 may be positioned therethrough, the said rivet 12 preventing wear upon said base plate.
ln view of the foregoing when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawing it will at once be apparent that the advertisement bearing strip 10 may be removed for allowing a new advertisement bearing sheet to be associated with the backing 5 by removing the bolt nut fastener 8 from the ears of said metallic rim 6 after which this rim may be bent away from the marginal edges of the back.
l have shown and described the most practical embodiment of the invention with which I am at present familiar, but it is nevertheless to be understood that in the future practice of the invention minor changes may be made thereinwithout departing from the spirit and scope of the appended claim. p
Having described my invention, what l claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s:-
A key tag comprising aplate provided atI its side surface with a countersunk channel all of the edges of which are spaced from the adjacent and correspondin edges of the plate, a transparent sheet dlsposed over the plate and the channel, a relatively ri 'd frame binding the edge portions only o the sheet and plate together, and having its edges dis osed beyond the edges of the channel, an an eyelet rivet assing transversely through theV plate an sheet and disposed beyond the end of the channel.
