Be it known that I, ETHAN A. LEONARD,
a citizen of the United States, residin at Aurora, in the county of Kane and state of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Window Mouse, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a window mouse and has for its principal object to provide a structure of this nature which may be readily and easily attached to a window cord so that the latter may be threaded through the window frame and trained over the pulley.
Another object of the invention is to provide an attachment for a mouse of this nature which is provided with a simple and e'fiicient construction, one which may be manufactured at a very low cost and be reliable and well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
lVith the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that 1 designates an ordinary window frame having the sash pulley 2 mounted therein. In order to train the sash cord 3 over this pulley 2 it. is necessary to use a mouse 4 which is connected to the end of the sash cord 3 by the attachment A. This attachment A includes the mouse engaging member B and the cord engaging member C. The mouse engaging member B is substantially T-shaped and is formed from a single strand of wire the intermediate portion of which is curved to form an eye 5 having the legs 6 extended therefrom in parallelism with each other and abutting each other and terminating in the offset extensions 7. The cord engaging member C includes a structure formed from a single strand of wire which is curved at its inter mediate portion to form an eye 8 engaged ill 1923. Serial No. 549,355.
with the eye 5 and extends from the eye forming the diverging portions 9 which terminate in the parallel legs 2 each of which terminates in an inwardly extending pointed lug or tooth 11 which are engaged with the cord which is illustrated to advantage in Figure 1. The wire used for forming the mouse engaging member B and the cord engaging member C is preferably of a resilient nature so as to be readily attached to the mouse 4 and this connection is more or less permanent and so as to be readily attached and detached with the cord which connection is only of a temporary nature as is read ily understood since the mouse is only used in training the cords over the pulleys.
I have. in the present instance, shown and described the preferred embodiment of the invention which will give in practice satisfactory and reliable results, and it is to be understood that the same is susceptible of modification in various particulars without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages.

As a new article of manufacture, an attachment for a window mouse including in combination a mouse engaging member and a window cord engaging member, said mouse engaging member beingsubstantially T- shaped having an eye at its terminal, said cord engaging member formed of bendable wire so as to form an eye having a pair of legs extended therefrom and terminating in inwardly extending pointed teeth.
2. In combination with a window mouse of an attachment therefor including a mouse engaging member embedded in the window mouse and terminating in an eye, and a cord engaging member formed of bendable wire so as to provide an eye having apair of legs extended therefrom and terminate ing in inwardly extended pointed teeth, the eye of said cord engaging memberbeing engaged with the eye of said mouse engaging member.
