To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWIN ASTLEY, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wash Benches, of which the following is a specification:

In my improved folding bench there are three pairs of legs, the center one of which eX- tends upward above the table to form a support for a wringer, and they are all hung upon transverse rounds, so that they may be folded, as hereafter described.

In the accompanying` drawing, Figure l is a vertical section, on line :v a: of Fig. l, of a Wash-beneh which embodies my invention; and Fig. 2 is a plan View of the same.

The platform or table of the bench is composed of three rails, a c e, secured together by means of transverse rounds or rods ccc. These rods pass throiigh the uprights which form, the legs B B B, said uprights being placed just within the two outer rails. The lower ends of each pair of legs B B B are connected together by rounds c c c. A divided rail, d d, is hung upon the round c of the legs at each end of the bench, the meeting portions each being provided with a semicircular recess, which, when the parts d d are brought together, embraces the round c' of the middle legs, as shown in Fig. 1. Hooks or other fastenings u may be employed to hold the rail d d together. The uprights ot the center pair of legs B extend upward above the rails c a a, and are connected by a crossAb-ar, C, at the top. If desired, suitable braces or hooks may be added to increase the rigidity of the bench. The rails a e a are designed to receive and hold a pair of wash-tubs or other vessels, while the bar C is designed as a support, to which a wringer may be attached. The parts are so connected to the rounds that the legs B B B and rail d el can be folded. Notches o o are formed in the center one of the rails a a a to receive the bar C and round c when the middle pair of legs are folded, as indicated by broken lines in Fig. l. The other legs can be folded over in a similar manner, so that the complete device can be -made to occupy less space when not wanted Yfor use. B'y causing the rail d d to embrace the round c of the center pair of legs, the wringer-support C is held firmly in place.

I claim as my invention- The bench a c a, provided with foldinglegs B B B, folding wringer-support C, and its fastening mechanism d d a a, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
