T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, RAY G. MARVIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at lVilton, in the county of Monroe and State of Visconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ironing-Tables, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to an ironing table and has special reference to a table that can be folded so as to require a minimum amount of space when so desired.

Another object of this invention is the production of an ironing table which is provided with a pivotally connected platform which is adapted to prevent the articles which are being ironed from dragging upon the floor.

lVith these and other objects in view this invention consists in certain novel combinations, constructions, and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings z-F igure 1 is a perspective View of the table in a setup position. Fig. 2 is a fragmentary longitudinal section of the table in a set-up position. Fig. 3 is a transverse view of the same in a set-'up position. Fig. 4 is a central longitudinal section of the table in a folded position.

Referring to the accompanying drawings by numerals 1 designates an ordlnary ironing board which is supported by a plurality of end frames. Each of the end frames consist of a pair of diverging legs 2, which are provided near their upper end with the supporting rung 3. A pivot rung 4 is carried near the lower end of said diverging legs 2, which is adapted to act as a supporting means for the platform carried by said frames. The diverging legs 2 are provided with the cross members 5 for strengthening the same. The ironing board 1 is pivotally connected to one of the rungs 3 by means of the keeper G for allowing the table to be folded when so desired. A pair of brace legs 7 are pivotally mounted upon the diverging legs 2 by means of the rung S for providing a means to hold the table steady.

The platform which is pivotally connected to the lower end of said legs 2 comprises a pair of panels S and 9, which are supported upon their outer side by the side rails 10 and 11 said rails 10 and 11 being pivotally mounted upon the rungs 4 carried by the lower ends of said legs 2. A pair of longitudinally extending arms 12 are carried by the rungs 4 and form a supporting means for the inner sides of said panels S and 9. These longitudinally extending arms 12 are centrally located upon the rungs 4 at a spaced distance from each other and extending parallel throughout their entire length. It will he seen that by use of this platform that the article which is being ironed can not drag upon the floor or the platform may be used as a means for supporting a clothes basket.

The longitudinally extending arms 2 extend to a distance beyond the rungs 4 and are provided at. one end with the upwardly extending necks 18, while the other end extends in the same direction throughout its entire length. A connecting link 14 is carried by each brace rung 15 and is adjustably connected to the ends of said longitudinally extending arms 12 by means of a. bolt or other connecting means. It will be seen that b y use of these connecting links 14 the outward movement of the brace legs 7 is limited and 4when it is desired to change the height of the table it may be easily accomplished by removing the conncctino' means carried by the apertures 1G formed in the arms 12 and the aperture in each link 14 and by moving the link to other apertures. It will further be seen that by use of'the longitudinally extending arms 12 that the link connector 14 is prevented from moving laterally by reason of said arms fitting along the side of said connector, and in this manner hold said connector in a central position upon the rung 15.

By use of this invention it will be seen that an ironing board has been produced which is provided with adjustable means for raising and lowering the same and also with means for receiving the article which is being ironed.

Having thus described the invention what is claimed as new, is:-

Au ironing table of the class described comprising a pair of end frames, said frames comprising a pair of diverging legs, brace legs pivotally connected to sald diverging legs, said brace legs provided with rungs upon their lower ends, a platform pivotally connected to the lower end of said diverging legs, said platform comprising a pair of panelsJ longitudinally extending arms carried by the inner sides of said panels, said arms extending for a. distance beyond the ends of said platform, connecting links Carried by the rungs of said brace legs and adjustably Connected between the outer ends of said longitudinally extending arms for allowing the height of the table to be adjusted, said longitudinally extending arms acting as a means for holding the oon- 10 neoting links in a central position upon said rungs.
