SHAVING UTENSIL.

Be it known that I, HENRY Fnnnnron EBERT, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the borough of Queens, county of Queens, city and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shaving Utensils, of which the following is the specification.

The object of this invention is to provide a compact, self-contained shaving utensil wherein will be ar 'anged a brush and a razor, and the relation of the parts, the means for securing them in the designated relation and With these and other objects in view the I following is what I consider the best means of carrying out my invention and the accompanying drawing should be referred tofor a complete understanding of the specification which follows.

As shown in the drawings, this member 10 consists of a cylinder having formed integral therewith a projection 11 of reduced .diameter. lVithin this reduced portion 1 arrange a screw-threaded cup 12 which will be later referred to, but which is secured in the projection 11 closing one end of the cylinder against the accidental. passage of water.

At the large open endof the cylinder 10, I provide a plurality of projections 13 and engaged thereon and secured over the open-- ing of the cylinder 10 is a cap 14 having a screw-threaded perforation 15. retain itself, but also the blade supporting member against vibration and rattle. Obviously, the cap 14 is provided with an overhanging flange 2c and recesses 21 for engagement with the projections 13.

' Screw-threaded into the cup member 12 is the brush 22, the bristles of which are secured in a head23 which should be formed of metal and surrounding the brush 22,. when not in-use, is a casing 24 which casing is provided .with perforations 25.

One end of the casing 24 is of a reduced diameter as shown at 26, this reduced por' tion is intended to fit closely upon the reduced portion 11 of the member 10 and the flange 27 upon the brush head 23 will engage the shoulder 28 of the casing 24 and will retain this casing in place associated with the member 10 as shown in Fig. 1, when the screw-threads 23 of the brush head engage the screw-threads of the cup member 12.

At the outer end of the member 24 I may arrange a cap 29 similar to the cap 14, previously described, with the exception that no screw-threaded perforation 15 is required in the cap 29.

When the brush is in use as shown in Fig. 2, the enclosing member 24 is laid aside and when the razor is in use, the member 16 may also be laid aside or may be replaced with in the member 10 after the razor has been removed.

I call particular attention to the opposed finger openings 30 and 31. in the member 24,

andwhich are provided to allow the user to engage with the fingers the flange 27, when the brush is in the container 24E, so that the head of the brush may be screwed into the cup 12 to retain the parts as shown in Fig. 1. r

The size and dimensions of all parts may be changed at will, the member 10 may be of any shape desired, the number of ventilating perforations 25, in the member 2% which allow evaporation from the brush and assist in the drying thereof may he increased or decreased and the diameter of these perforations may be changed at will.

Other modifications may be made within the scope of the appended claims.

Having carefully and fully described my invention what I claim is 1. a shaving utensil having a plurality of cylindrical casings in longitudinal alignment and each provided with reduced portions, a screw-threaded cup member secured under the reduced portion of one said cylindrical member, a brush having a screwthreaded head adapted to engage in said cup and means upon said brush head tor retaining the other said cylindrical member around said brush.

A. shaving utensil comprising a plurality of casings in alignn'ient. each having a portion of reduced cross-sectional area, a screw-threaded 'cup within one said .reduced portion and secured therein, a brush having a screw-threaded head and a flange and adapted to be engaged t-hroughthe other said casing and into said cup, said flange securing the reduced portion of said second :asing, over the reduced portion of the first said casing;

A shaving brush comprising a plurality of casings in alignment, one of which is adapted to be received within another and two of which are providedwith reduced portions, one reduced portion being adapted to be secured over anotherreduced portion, a screw-threaded cup within one reduced portion and a brush head having a flange adapted to engage the other said reduced portion anda screw-thread adapted to be received in said cup, to retain the whole secured.

In a device oi the character described, a plurality of casings, each havin'ga reduced portion, caps tor the free ends of said casings, a screw-threaded member in the reduced portion of one said casing and means co-operating with said screw-threaded mem-' her for securing said casings together, said means comprising a brush having a screwthreaded head, one of said casings being provided with finger recesses to allow the rotation of said brush head.
