J. E. STAMPFLI HUNTING LICENSE HOLDER Filed April 1s. 192s @www Patented Apr. 8, 1924.
PATEFT HUNTING-LICENSE HOLDER.
Application filed April 16, 1923. Serial No. 632,262.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH E. STAMPFLI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oakland, in the county or Alameda and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hunting- License Holders, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improved hunting li-l cense holder.
The object of my invention is to provide a convenient means of carrying the license so that it cannot be lost or mutilated.
Further objects are to provide a holder which is placed in the gun stock, and Which is simple in construction and inexpensive to manufacture.
In the annexed drawing in which my invention is illustrated.
2O Figure l is a fragmentary longitudinal sectional view of a gun stock with my holder positioned therein.
Figure 2 is an end elevation of the holder case.
Figure is a perspective view of the holder.
Referring more particularly to the draiving, the numeral l indicates a gun stock and 2 the shoulder plate securedto the end thereof. A longitudinal bore 3 is formed in the stock l, and a casing 4 is adapted to fit into said bore. A plate 5 is secured to the open end of the casing 4, and an aperture 6 is formed therein communicating With the casing 4. 'I he plate 5 is countersunk into the end of the stock l and the plate 2 is fastened over it, thus holding the casing 4 securely in position.
An opening 7 is formed in the plate 2 in alignment With the hole 6 in the plate 5.
A tube 8 is adapted to fit Within the casing 4, and holds the license. The closed end of said tube is threaded as at 9 into the end of the casing and a slot lO being formed on the closed end of the tube Whereby the tube is inserted or removed.
rIhe open end of the tube 8 is adjacent the closed end of the casing 4, which insures the safe keeping or" the license. The tube 8 may be readily removed or returned to position through the opening 7.
Having described my invention, I claim:
A license holder Whichiis adapted to it within a gun stock, comprising a casing, said stock having a bore to receive said casing, a plate on the end of said casing, said plate having a hole therein opening into said casing, a tube, threads on the end of said tube which are adapted to thread into the end of said casing, means 'for rotating said tube.
In testimony whereof I my signature.
JOSEPH E. STAMPFLI.
