Be it known that I, BERNARD G.'V IGURs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Staten Island, in the county of Richmondr and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pin Clips, of which the following is a Specification. l p

My invention relates to improvements in pin clips, and has for an object to provide a pin clip, that may be used either as a pin or as an ordinary paper clip.

A further object of my invention is to provide a pin clip, which may be used as a pin and as a clip at the same time, and wherein, as a pin clip, it makes a more complete and better means for fastening papers together than a pin or clip alone, as it combines the advantages of both at the same time.

A still further object of my invention is to provide a pin clip, whereby when in use, 4the pin prevents the middle sheets from slipping out of alignment with other sheets or from slipping out altogether as often happens when the ordinary clip is used alone.

A still further object of my invention is to provide a pin clip, whereby it is impossible for the top sheets to break loose as it often happens when an ordinary pin isused, and furthermore, there is no head to stick into the end of the users finger as ordinarily occurs. y

A still further object of my invention is to provide a. pin clip, that has in addition to the above mentioned advantages, to provide means whereby it can be used as a price car or tag support.

A still further object of my invention is to provide a pin clip, that is strong, durable, simple and inexpensive in construction, and

4'that is well adapted to the use for which it Vis designed.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent during the course of the following description.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved pin clip, when used as a price card or tag support,

Figure 2 is a rear elevation of the same, and

Figure 3 is a detail perspective of one of my pin clips.

In the drawings, wherein for the purpose or" illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention the numeral 5 designates my improved pin clip in its entirety.

In its construction, my device is made from a single piece of material, and is formed in various designs and'patterns and preferably ofV a non-rusting material. The piece of material is bent at G to form the longitudinal member 7 whose lengthis a little over half the width'of the entire clasp pin '5. The material is then bent diagonally forming the arm 8, which is of any desired length, according to the size of the pin clip which is being formed, and is bent at a point 9, preferably at right angles to the arm 8, forming a leg 10 which is shorter than the arm 8. The material is then bent at a point 11 and a similar leg 12 is formed the same length as the leg 10, at which point 13, the material is again bent at preferably right angles forming an arm 14 similar to the arm 8, and the material is again bent at a point 15 forming a longitudinal member 16 which is bent at the center of the pin clip, and a pin memberV 17 is formed, extending a substantial distance below the point 11, said pin member 17 being provided with a point 18. v

The arm 8 due to the tension given the same by the arm 14, is held in close contact with the pin member 17 and the point 19 so that the pin clip will form a very efficient paper clip. Thej length of the pin member 17 would be suflicient to enable the clip to slip completely on to papers, whereby the papers are held in such a manner, that the middle lsheets are guarded against slipping out of alignment with the outer sheet or from slipping out altogether, as often happens with the ordinary paper clip now in use. My improved paper clip, may be used as a price card, or tag support, and in such cases, a tag or card 20 is inserted between the pin member 17 and the face of my pin clip, and the pin. member 17 is stuck into the body of material on whichthe price card is placed. 'It will thus be seen that I `have devised a device, which may be used penetrate the skin of the person applyingr my clip, nor is there any possibility ofthe top sheet kof paper or other material, being lost when my improved pin clip is being used to fasten several sheets together.V

It is to be understood that the form of myinvention herewith shown and described is-to be taken as a preferred embodiment of the same,A and that various changes inthe shape, Size and arrangement ofparts mayv prising a vertical shank provided at its.

A `rein clip of the class described comprising a vertical shank provided at its lower end with a piercing point, the opposite end thereof being formed into a c1amping member, consisting of a triangularshaped loop., and a diamond shape loop depending therefrom and arranged parallel with the shank the lower endof the diamond shaped loop and the portion of the clamp member at the juncture of said loops being arranged in Contact with the shank.
