IMPROVEMENT IN UNDERSHIRTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 146,656, dated January '20, 1874; application filed September 30, 1873.
To' all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, ALFRED CoNGER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented' a new and useful Improvement in Knitted or Flannel Shirts; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and
exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which drawing- Figure l represents a front view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a transverse section -of the same.

rlhis invention consists in a knitted or flannelundershirt with an. open back and closed front, the front being provided with a sanitary chest-protector, applied thereto in such a manner that the breast of the person wearing the shirt is eifectually protected against cold drafts or winds, and if the frontl of the shirt be ornamented, it will be specially adapted for wear without the usual over or linen shirt.
