7 To all whom it mag concern, f' f 1 it known that I, -Tr1noDoRn W;
SCHRAMM, a citizen of the United States} of America, and a resident of Bay City, in the county of Bay and State 'ofzMichi'gan, have invented certain new and useful Imfprovements in'Powder Puifs,of which the following is a specification. Y
This invention relates to new and useful and usually'the-puff unfolds, s'pillingthe improvements in powder Vpuffs.
One object of the invention is to provide a powder puff having a small powdercontaining receptacle attached thereto, so that powder can be applied to the 'face'of the puif when desired;
Another object is to design a novel pow der puff so constructed that the powder re ceptacle can be concealed within the puff when not in use, and is readily accessible for the application of powder when desired;
A further object is to provide a convenient powder puff having a receptacle attached thereto, so that it will not be necessary to apply an excess. quantityrof powder to the face of the puflifor use: when away 7 from home, visiting, shoppingior otherwise engaged. n a A still further object is to design a powder puff with a receptacle attachment-which will in no manner interfere with theuse of the puff, and whichwill eliminate the necessity of carrying a separate puff andpowder receptacle. e
Vith the above and other objects in view,
the present invention consists in the com bination and arrangement of parts, hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims,cit
being understood that changes may be made in the form, size, proportion, and minor de-' tails of construction, without departing from the spirit or. sacrificing any ofthe -ad-;
vantages of the invention.
In the drawings V Fig. 1 is a top plan view of powder puff illustrating the-receptacle attached, thereto, the dotted lines showing it concealed within the puff; i
Fig. 2 is a side view thereof and illustrating the opening for inserting the-receptacle; Fig. 3 is a-view of the receptacle proper,
the dotted lines illustrating the cover in open position. v
The conventional powder puff is formed improved of a soft fiuify .-fle xible material, and toilet article used by the-feminine seX in general for applying powder to the face;
These are made up indifferent shapesand, styles, and are usually carried inthe front home folds it "and then places it" in the waist, v
powderwhieh saturates the garments and is wasted, as well as inconveniencing the pen son when it is desired to apply the powder.
These disadvantages I have overcome by providing a'small powder containing receptacle which is flexibly attached to and con eealed within the puff proper. Referringnow particularly to the draw. mg, the numeral 5 indicates a conventional powder puff such as used by ladies in general, these are usually formed of a top and bottom piece of fabric or other material sewed together on the edges to for-ma fl round puff, and in my improved construe:
tion the puff proper is formed in-an identically similar manner excepting that I provide an openingfi in the edge which'is'.
adapted to be closed by means of acommon snap attachment .7. "A 'flexible ribbon or 1 "cord 8 is'secured to the edgeof the opening, 7 the free end being secured 'toa small box or receptacle 9 which is provided with a cover 9e hinged as shown at 10, and this cover can be provided with a snaplocki'ng attachment to hold it in closedposition and prevent the spilling of'the powder when the receptacle is concealed within the puff. e
as f
The receptacle can ofcou'rse be of anyf construction to suit th'e manufacturer, and the ribbon-or cord can be attached many desired manner. also, the powder puff can be provided with a SlYltlLPOCkQt designed to accommodate the receptacle; and 7 other minor, changes may be resorted to' without e departing from the spirit of the invention.
From-the foregoing description it will be obvious that I'have perfected a very simple, and convenient combined powder puff and receptacle,whereby the powderv may be cone puff.- 1 V at I claim is':
