-and useful Improvements in Combination Tools, of which the following is a specification.

Ihis inventionrelates to improvements in carpenters tools and has for its object to provide means whereby an ordinary saw having astraight edge; may be used as a carpenters square. Y

Another object of the invention is to provide a combined saw and carpenters square.

Another object of .the invention is to provide a device which may be attached to an ordinary saw having a straight edge, whereby a carpenters square may be provided.

With the above and other objects lin view I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which-f,y

The advantages of a device of this/kind Vy is very apparent, as two very important and essential carpenters tools are provided in the one instrument, thus the carpenter is not only saved the Atrouble of looking for a square when he wants it, but is also saved the time necessary to change tools.

Having described my invention, that which I claim to be new and desire to procure by Letters Patent' is:

1.111 combination with a saw, flanges formed transversely .o to the blade thereof, said saw having a straight edge arranged at right angles to said flanges, and a U-shaped strap upon which said flanges are formed, said strap straddling the blade of and being riveted in place thereon.

2. A device of the kind described, consisting of a U-shaped strap adapted-to Straddle a saw blade, each arm of said strap having a right-angular flange forming a short arm of a carpenters square, and means whereby said strap may be fixed to said blade, whereby said short arms may coact with the straight edge lof said blade to form said square.
