IMPROVEMENT IN HEAD-BANDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,169, dated August 26, 1873; application filed June 21,1873.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, DANIEL McKINNoN, of Wappingers Falls, in the county of Dutchess and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ornamental Head- Bauds, of which the following is a specification:
The drawing is a perspective View of my improvement, showing its construction and practical application.
This improvement relates to an article of apparel especially applicable to the binding and dressing of the hair. The invention cousists in an ornamental head-band provided with one or more hooks, substantially as hereinafter shown and described.
The band A is made, preferably, in one piece,
is to hook into the hair of the wearer, so as to bind and ornament the same, as indicated in the drawing. The edges and front of the band may be adorned by any suitable carvings or ornaments to suit the taste of the wearer. I have stated that the band is to be finished with one or more hooks, a,- although one hook might answer a useful purpose, I prefer to usej-l'three hooks, as shown.
