IMPROVEMENT IN HARNESSfFASTENlNGS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 140,474, dated July 1, 1873 application filed December 26, 1872.

To all lwhom it may concern Be it known that I, ENOOH COVERT, of Farmer Village, in the county ot' Seneca and in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Harness; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of this specification.

The nature of my invention consists in a metallic loop or ring provided with raised the outer end of this ring or loop are raised points a a, whichV are fastened in the layer C of the breeching or collar, and then stitched fast.

The advantage of the points a a is, that they take oit' the strain from the stitching, and the loop will remain as long as the harness lasts, while in using the old-fashioned ring there is nothing to hold it but the stitching, which soon wea-rs out, and then the brace comes out.

Having thus fully described my invention, vwhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The metallic loop or ring A, provided with raised points a a, and used substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
