WINIDON-GATGH.
Application filed July 21, 1920.
T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that l, ll/IATTS DAHLGREN, merchant, and a subject of the King of Sweden, residing at Falkijping-ltanten, in the Kingdom of Sweden, have invented cer tain new and useful Improvements in Win- (low-catches, and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention relates to a window catch, to be placed between the window post and the window, and is characterized essentially by the fact that the catch is on one of its broad sides provided with notches by means of which it is adjusted in a recess in a fitting on the window frame, which recess tapers conically downward and is open at the top.
A form of the invention is shown in the drawing, where Figure 3 shows the fitting, fixed to the window frame, from the side, and Figs. 1 and 2 the catch and the fitting from the side and from above respectively.
-1- designates the fitting, which is an gular and is fixed to the window frame, its part which projects from the window :frame being provided with a recess tapering conically downward and open at the top, in which recess the window catch -2 (Fig. 2-, 3) is inserted, the said catch being pro- Specification 01 Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 18, 1921.
Serial no. 397,856.
vided on one of its sides with notches which prevent the window catch -2- from sliding in the recess in the fitting -1-, but nevertheless permit the window catch to be turned at different angles.
By the present invention is attained the advantage that the windows can be locked gradually with a simple manipulation of the hand, without the windows, as has hitherto been the case, shaking in windy weather, etc., besides which the catch can assume any angle whatever in relation to the fitting. In the previously known devices this result cannot be attained, because there is always a certain amount of play between the hole in the catch and the hook.
W hat I do claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
, An element for attachment to a window frame and having a downwardly narrowing recess in its upper side, and a catchjarranged to be placed between the window post and the window and provided on one of its broad sides with notches which enable said catch to be adjustably engaged in said recess of said element.
In testimony whereof I have afi'ixed my si nature in presence of two witnesses.
MATTS DAHLGREN. VJitnesses L. GHUYDER, S. SwnNssoN.
