CANDY PACKAGE.
APPLICATION FILED NOV. 26. 1920.
Patented Sept. 13, 1921.
UNITED smi es BLANGHE BONESTELL,
gn reur OFFICE.
.N. Y., A CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
CANDY-PACKAGE.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Sept. 13, 1921.
Application filed Mamba 2a, 1920. serial No. 426,352.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, BLANCHE BoNnsrnLL, a citizen of the United States of America,
residing at New York, in the county and therewith simple means for carrying the candy. h h
My invention consists in the construction,
combination and arrangement of parts hereparts in all views, I have illustrate erred embodiment of my invention, andin described, and claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
In these drawlngs, in which similar ret erence characters designate corres onding a pre- 1 Figure 1 is a perspective view of the doll candy package viewed approximately from the front; 1
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the doll candy package shown in Fig. 1; and
Fi 3 is a section taken approximately on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings, the package comprises a representation of a doll con sisting preferably of a pair of sheets 1, 2, of cardboard or similar material cut to shape and decorated with a head 3, arms 4 and skirt 5, the sheet 1 representing the front and the sheet 2 the back of the doll. These sheets or boards may be secured together, preferably by a ribbon 6, which is tied in a bow and serves also as the dolls hair ribbon, and by ribbons or other form of wristlets 7 tied about the Wrist portions of the two sheets. Below the waist, the front and back portions of the skirt 5, designated 9 and 10 respectively, are preferably left free so that they may be separated.
The main candy carrying portion of the package comprises a bag 11, preferably of a light network material rendering the contents visible, which is supported between the front and back portions of the skirt upon cords or ribbons 12, 13. The skirt portions 9, 10, readily spread to accommodate the bag of candy when filled, but may, if desired, be separate pieces from the parts representing the upperpart of the body, and may be hingedly connected thereto atthe walst.
In the preferred construction illustrated, the front and back boards 1, 2, are in one piece, and the cords 12, 13, pass through loops 14in theback boards forward through 1oops15 in the forward boards and thence back under the arms, being tied together at 16 behlnd the doll, with sufficient length of cord so that the doll may be hung up for dlsplay by this means. This arrangement is such that when the cords 12, 13, are pulled at the back, or when the doll is hung up on (llsplay, the cords are drawn through the loops 14, 15, sufficiently to draw the front and back boards 1, 2, together as close as the filled candy bag will permit; but when the cords are released at theback, the boards 1, 2, may be readily separated for access to the candy. fl ()ne'or both of the loops 15 may be concealed if desired, by a decorative bow, as at 8; and other decorative matter may be used as desired, such as the pocket 17, paper lace fringe 18, and the like.
The doll is preferably provided with legs 19 movably attached to the body portion, as
to the back cardboard 2, and these legs may, if desired, be made of netting and used as additional candy containers, being particularly adapted to contain and display candy sticks.
Having now described my invention, I 01mm and desire to secure by Letters Pat ent:

3. A candy package, comprising front and back boards out and decorated to represent a doll, means holding said boards together at the upper part, a candy container disposed between said boards, means for suspending the doll for display purposes, and means associated with said suspending means for drawing the boards together to prevent access to the container when the doll is suspended.
and back'boards out and decorated to represent'adoll, means holding said boards together'at'the upper part, a candy container disposed between said boards, and cords slidablyjassociated with said boards for drawing them together, and arranged for suspending the doll.

A candy package, comprising front and back boards cut and decorated to represent a doll, and provided with loops at the waist portion, means holding said boards together at the upper part, cords passing through said loops and arranged to suspend the doll, and a candy container supported 'by said cords and disposed between the front and back boards.
6. A 'candyf package, comprising front and back boards cut and decorated to represent a'doll and provided with loops at the .waist-portiom'means holding said boards together at the upper part, cords passing throughsaid loops and arranged to suspend the doll, and a candy container-supported by "said cords: and disposed between the front and back boards, the arrangement of I said cordsbeing such that on suspending the doll the cords draw the boards together to prevent access to the container.
