hmm-N INVENTOR BY mb AT'ORNEY WITNES:
UNITED STATES ADDISON BOS'IAN, OF EAST FLORENCE, ALABAMA.
WALL-MOLD.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 8, F1321.
Application led March 2*?, 1320. Serial No. 369,220.
1o ZZZ whom z'z may concern:
lle it known that l, AnnisoN BosfrALN, a citizen of the United States resi/lingl at East Florence, in the county oi Lauderdale and State olf Alabama, have invented new and useful Improvements in lVall-ll/lolds7 oit which the following is a specication.
This invention relates to improvements in cement forms and the principal object of the invention is to provide a novel brace 'for holdingl the walls of the form in position.
Another object of the invention is to provide means for adjustably connectingn the brace to the torno so that said forni may be adjusted to its correct position.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement oit the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying' drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing my invention in detail, rei erence will be had to the acconipauyino,` drawings wherein like characters denote like or correspondii'ib parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure l4 is a sectional view througigjh a form showing` my invention in use.
Fig. 2 is a side view with parts broker. away.
In these views l indicates a portion of the concrete wall and 2 indicates the sides et the form 'for receivingl the concre Tor forming a continuation oi the "fall, rllhese forms are formed ot the i and the planks e. In car i nir out my invention l secure these forms to the uprights 5 which are composed of the upper and lower portions 6 and 7' which are .ged together at their abutting ends by the plates 8 and the pins 9. The torni is secured to the upper sections of the uprights and the lower sections are adapted to be connected with the bolts lO which are embedded in the vali. A brace beam 1l connected at its lower end with each ot' the stationary parts 5 of the uprights and said brace extends upwardly and outwardly at an angle as shown. lts upper end is connected with the upper end of the sections 7 by means oi the turn buckle arrangement l2 so that by manipu- Wight beams :lv
loting said turn buckle the sections 'l' and the side of the mold carried tl'iereby may be adjusted so as to aline with the i'ace ot' the completed wall. .l may use jam nuts 13 jtor locking the turn buckle in adjusted position. A
its will be seen the lower sections oit the uprights are spaced from the concrete wall by the beams lll, 'the upper beam receiving the lower ends ot the forms Q. The bol lll pass through some ot these beams. lf may also provide a platform l5 tor the workmen. to stand on., this platform beine,` connected with the beams 7 and 1l.
it will Vthus be seen that :towns are hinged on the stationary members wi .ich are flipt ed to be connected with the torni partici the wall by the usual bolts or supporting; rods and that the forms may be easily adjusted to the iuoper position by manipulating` the turn buckles.
lt is thought "rom the foregoing' description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
l desire it to be understood that l may malte changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement ot the. several parts, provided that such changes :tall within the scope oit the appended claims.
llfhat l claim is l.. A wall mold comprising a stationary member ai apted to be bolted to the wall. a forni section having its lower end hinged to the stationary member7 a brace menil'ier having' its lower end connected with the stationary member and extending upwai ily and having` its upper end spaced from the mold section and means for adjustably connecting; the :torni section to said brace member.
2. ln combination witli a concrete torni for walls and the lili'c uprio'ht members each formed in two parts whi are pivotally connected together? one pr t being con .L
nested with the wall and too other part to the side of the torni., ai flined bruco niember connected to each ot 'the stationary por A of the uprights and a turn buckle connecting' said brace with the hinged part ot the upright. i
in testimony whereotl iilix my sic'natuie.
