Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1136,3271, dated February 25, 1873.
The Nature ofthe Invention.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction of the supporter and the method of fastening the same to the table, and will be best understood by reference to the drawing and specification.
Description of the Drawing.
Figure l is an elevation, showing the supporter with a cup in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a plan of the same.
General Description.
This supporter consists of two parts: First, the cast metallic part 0 B D, formed as shown in the drawing. This part is provided with a screw, H, at its upper end, by means of which it is fastened to the under side of the table, it desirable. This screw H may be dispensed with and some other connecting device substituted for it. F is a start made in connection with the part B and serves as a hold for the spring E. The second part of my support consists of the spring E, made substantially as shown.
In use the supporter is fastened to the under side of the table, and the cup, represented by dotted lines, Fig. 1, is set upon the shelf part 0, while the pipe is held between the arm D and the spring E, as shown in Fig. 1. This arrangement holds the cup securely in place, and yet admits of its being readily remox'ed or replaced.
