N. H. LAMB.
PAPER HANGING DEVICE.
APPLICATION FILED MAR. 4. 1919.

awwawtoz UNITED STATIlES PATENT OFFICE.
NATHAN H. LAMB, or FALLON, MONTANA.
PAPER-HANGING DEVICE.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented J une 2Q, 1920,
Application filed March 4, 1919. Serial No. 280,602.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NATHAN H. LAMB, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fallon, in the county of Prairie and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Paper-Hanging of parts which will be hereinafter'fully de-' scribed, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings which, with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this application, and in. which:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the device. T Fig. 2 is a sectional view on line 2-2 of fig. 1. V
Fig. 3 is a detail perspective, showing the application of the paper cutting device, and
Fig. 4 is a detail sectional view showing in edge view the cutter illustrated in Fig. 3.
' Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter:
A designates the frame of a paper hanging device, which may be of any suitable shape, preferably that shown in the drawings, and which is provided with a handle B. Pivotally mounted in parallel portions of the frame is a reel G, upon which the roll of paper is mounted, and D designates a second reel having a. spindle N journaled 1n the frame, and F is a crank fastened to said reel D. Other rollers designated by letters Hand I are also journaled in the 7 frame and are adapted to frictionally engage the paper which passes between the same. In order to guide the short pieces of paper a bracket member L is fastened to the frame and has a concaved end serving to prevent the paper from moving sidewise. In Fig. 4 of the drawings I have shown a bracket arm T fastened to the frame and upon which a movable collar S is mounted having a handle S, and projecting laterally from said collar is a bearing member on which a circular disk cutting knife R is mounted, and which may be utilized for severing the paper when desired by drawing the cutter across the edge of theknife in the manner shown in Fig. 4 of the drawings.
In operation, a quantity of paper is 'wound from the reel C upon the reel D,
after which by moving the disk cutter across the paper it may be severed. One end of the paper is then fed between the rollers H and I and applied to the wall or ceiling which has first been coated with paste, after which by moving the instrument the roller I will press the paper against the wall as it is unreeled. When a section ofthe paper has been stuck to the wall, the
paper may be severed by a knife or other suitable instrument.
What I claim to be new is:
In combination with the frame of a paper hanging apparatus, a bail shaped member secured thereto, and having an end which is disposed at an angle to the frame, a sleeve movable upon said member and having an,
integral handle projecting therefrom, and a stub shaft also projecting from the sleeve at right angles to said handle, and a cutter disk mounted upon said stub shaft.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
