IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-CHIMNEYS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 132,786, dated November 5, 1872.

The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of two metallic frames, fitting one within the other to hold between them a piece of isinglass to form a lamp chimney, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the two frames separated; and Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same in place with the isinglass between them.
.A represents a metallic, band or ring connected by a strap, B, with a cone, 0, all of metal, which forms one of the frames for my lamp-chimney. The other frame is constructed precisely in the same manner, of a ring, A, strap B, and cone 0, and as much smaller than the former frame that it will fit Within the same. A piece, D, of isinglass or other suitable transparent material is wrapped around the smaller frame, and the larger frame put over the same, the piece D thus being firmly held between the two frames. This completes my lamp-chimney, which can readily be taken apart for cleaning, or, if the isinglass gets broken or otherwise injured, so that a new piece may be inserted.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination of the ring A, strap B, cone 0, inner ring A, strap B, and inner cone 0, with the chimney D, all substantially as set forth.
