Of the above said invention the following isa more full description:
In the drawing, Figure 2, A A represent the side rails of the hedstead, inside of which is seeured a cleat, B. To each cleat is attached, by eye-screws C, a rubber tube, D, or an elastic cord or rope. The ends of said tube are each provided with an eye whereby they are hitched to the hooks E, and which are supported between said hooks by the eye-screws C, through which they are passed, as shown in the drawing. To said tubes are attached the slats F by means of hooks Gr inserted in each end thereof.
By this device a strong, durable, and elastic bottom is obtained for the bed, easily constructed, and readily adjustable to the weight of those lying upon it.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The rubber tube D or its equivalent, as arranged in relation to and in combination with the side rails A and slats F, substantially in the manner as and for the purpose setforth.
