Be it known that I, JOHAN GUsTAr EN- `s'rnM, a subject ofthe King of Sweden, re-
siding at Nordenskldsgatan 28, Gottenborg, inthe county of Gottenborg and y Bohus and' Kingdom of Sweden, have invented new `and useful Improvements j in Seal-Locks for Boxes, of'which the following is la specification. This invention refers to boxes or cases porting purposes. Themain object of this invention is to provide a boxor c'ase,.which is exceedingly safe and reliable, so that unauthorizedimproper persons cannot get at the contents of the sameeither through the cover proper or through the sides or bot- 'tom without suchvtampering being lmown.l

In the first mentioned. figure, the cover 27 1s `moved to theJ right, so that the mountings l17 are not engaged with the lugs 46,' and the cover can'beremoved from the box and inl Fig. l0 thecover hasbeen pushed to the Y left landthereby the mountings 47 tocoperatewith the lugs/16, so that the cover cannot be raised. Similar mountings 17 and A lugs 46 are'provided on all the sides as well as on the bottom "126 of the box, asshown in Figs. 9 and 410,.with the only difference, that the mountingsg47 are fastened inl opposite directions on `opposite sides, thus prey venting separation of the sides and bottoms from one another without unscrewing the mountings `from the corresponding parts.

Into the casing 1 there are two members 31 each provided with two opposed hooked ends or projections 34 leaving a free space 134 between the members 31. Into lsaid spaces 134 there is interposed a member 32 serving as a lock bolt, which member is j portionsl 33 are provided each with lugs 3T of a larger width than the gap 131 between the opposing ends 34 oi'one and the same member 31, so, that, when the member 32 is moved to the lett, as illustrated inl Fig. 1, with the lugs 35 positioned in the spaces 134, the hooked ends 34 prevent the member 32 from beingremoved laterally out of the casing. The narrow end portions 33 are ot somewhat less width than the spaces 131, so that the member 32 can be laterally introduced `into or withdrawn from the spaces 134, when'movedto the right asA shown in Fig. 2. When in place in the spaces 134, either in the right hand end position as in Fig. 2 or Pin 'the left hand end position as in Fig. 1, .the end portions 33 engage the hooked ends 29 on theirupper side and the hooked ends v30 on their down side, so that the cover 27 cannot be raised -from its position on the top edges of the sides 26, 260. As soonv as the member 32 is moved to the lett as in Fig 1 with the cover 27 in the closed position according to Fig. 10, the
lugs 35 coperate with the hooked ends 34 and prevent the cover 27 from being released from the lugs 46 by moving laterally to the right, as shown` in Fig. 9. Thus the cover 27 will be securely kept in place on the box, when the locking 'bolt member 32 is in its properposition according to Fig. 1.
1 -The 'casing 1 further is provided 4with an interior cover 12 hinged on pins 121 and provided with lug 20, which, when such .cover is closed, as in Fig. 5, coperateswith the aperture 36 in the member 32 when this is in the right hand, locking position as in Fig. 1 and acts to retain said member 32 in this position. This positionwill be maintained irrespective ot the rough handling to which a box is usually subjected during transit, because the border 37 of the aperture 36 coperates with the said prong 20.
In they projecting ends 34 there are provided holes 44, through which acord 45 can be thrust and sealed by a lead or seal150, so that the card 45 cannot be removed withontV breaking the seal, and consequently any unauthorized entrance into the box will be detected. For this purpose the holes 44 are 4madeso near the outer ends of the projections 34that they are to be found on the l'outside of the cover 12, when the latter is closed, andaccordingly said cover cannot be opened and the locking bolt member 32 reached without iirst removing the seal 150. An Vouter cover 13 closes thecasing 1 and protects the `seal 150 Afrom unintentional damage. The outer cover 13 is provided with a tongue 38 with a hole 39, which registers witha'holein atongue 40 on the casing 1, when the cover 13 isclosed, and through these two coperating holes there can be thrust a small wire 41 twisted to a loop, in order to retain the outer cover in closed position.
I do not limit myself to the special arrangement herein shown whereinthe casing 1 is attached to thebox side 260 and thereooperating parts in the cover 27, but I desire to protectalso the natural modification ot placing the casing 1 in the cover 27 and the coperating parts in the box side, as this modification will bring about the same result, thouglifit may be deemed as ,somewhat less practical in ordinary use.
