The principal object of my invention is j "to provide a lock' of the character described, which frustrates attempts by unauthorized ing stump, by, manipulation through the aperture in the cover plate at the top of the stump, and thus to secure added protection.

A further object of my invention is to provide a simple ancl inexpensive device adapted to be associated with locks of various types and difl'erent constructions, for

A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the character described, which may be applied to locks of various types and different con structions, without requiring changing or altering any part of the look, but merely by adding the device thereto.
