Referring now to these figures, my invention proposes a Wrench including a rigid javvv 10 opposed by a movable jaw 11, the former being fixed at one end of a rigid shank 12 to which, at an intermediate point, is secured a rectangular lever casing 13.
The movable jaw 11 is slidably disposed upon the shank 12 for adjustable movement between the casing 13 and the fixed head 10, and is pivotally connected at 1 4 to the outer end of its shank 15, the latter of which extends in parallel spaced relation to the fixed shank 12 for a portion of the length of the latter, and projects at its free end into the easing 13 at. the relatively opposite side thereof as compared to the shank 12. The movable shank 15 has an enlargement 16 adjacent the movable jaw 11, controlled by a sprin 17 so as to normally hold the shank 15 su tantiall at right an les to the movable 'aw 11, it eilig noted t at the movabe sh 15 is rovided with a longitudinal series of ratclliet teeth 18 along one side presenti relateefgeeraliy Yte' i 1 weenches; aadiimere prtieelariytoiquei adjlistabl Wrench, my'objeot being the prei g A thereof; aan has alateranyemnaiifg and i t 19- prvie with a miniem 2o ane projectis'foitilzenfof the Unlted Statea'and *a resident Sani @in the .county 'f Vof' ing through a slotqllatv the'adjac'ent side offthe easing 13 in order toforxn a handle wherebyfthefmovable jaiwll Vmay be manualily'adjusted fin a ready d nick manner upon shank 12 t viral an' 1 away from tlirefixedhad 1Q. i

It is obvious therefore, that my present construction provides a quick adjustable wrench, at onee simple and inexpensive, and one which will be strong and durable as well as effective in use.
I claim:
1. A wrench comprising a fixed jaw, a fixed shank upon which said jaw is rigid, a movable jaw opposing the fixed jaw and having a sliding connection with the said rigid shank, a 'shank extending from the movable jaw, a rocking lever fulcrumed in connection With the fixed shank and adjustably engaging the said movable shank to shift the latter and the movable jaw in the direction of the length of the rigid shank, and into and out of connection with which said movable shank is manually shiftable for adjusting the movable jaw, and a lever 'f lixed shank upon which said jaw isi'rigid,
a movable 'aw opposing the fixedA jawpandY havin f afv'slidin'g connection with the'said xed hank, a shank pivoted, toand extending from the movable jaw and having a longitudinal seriesfof teeth, a toothed lever fulcrumed in connection with Vthe fixed shank and engaging the toothed portion of the movable shank to shift the latter in the direction of the length ofthe fixed shank and into and out of engagement with which the said movable shank is shiftable upon its pivot, and a lever fulcrumed upon Aand Working toward and away from the fixed shank and having a pivotal connection at one end with the first named lever, for the purpose described.V Y Y Y. Y
3. A Wrench comprising a fixed jaw, a fixed shank uponVWhiehVrSaid-javv is rigid, a lever casing secured to the flxedrshank at a point intermediate the ends of the latter, a movable jaw opposing theV fixed jaw-and slidably mounted upon the lixedshank between the fixed jaw andthe saidlever casing, a movable shank pivoted to the movable jaw and normallyV extending parallel to the fixed shank and projecting Within Said lever casing, said movable `having a longitudinal Vseries of teeth, an angular lever fulcrumed Within the lever casing and having teeth at one end for enga ement with the teeth of the movable shan ,fsaid movablershank having a laterally and exteriorly lprojeet'ing stud forming'lai handle whereby 1t maybe moved on its pivot into and out Yof engagement with theai-d toothed lever,
a second lever fulcrumed upon the fixed shank'and extending therealong, and linke Vpivotally connecting the first and Ysecond evers and arranged Within the lever easing, for the purpose described.
4. A .Wrench comprising a fixed jaw, a fixed shankuponwhich said jawis rigid, a lever casing ,securedV to the fixed shanlrvat a point intermediaterthe ende of the latter, a movable jaw oppoeingthe xed jaw and slidably mounted upon the fixed shank bei tween the fixed jaw and the said lever casing, a movable shank pivotedto the movable jaw and normally extending parallel to the fixed shank, and projecting Within said lever Casing, said movable jaw having a longitudinal eeriee ,ofl teeth, an angularfleverV fulcrumed Within the lever casing and having teeth at one end for engagement with the teeth of the movable shank, said movable shank having a laterally1 and exteriorly projecting stud forming a andle whereby it may be moved on its pivot into and out of engagement with the said toothed lever, a second lever fulcrumed upon the fixed Shank and extending therealong, links pivotally connecting the first and second levers and arranged vvithin the lever casing, for the y purpose described, andra springV carried by the movable jaw and engaging the movable @henk t normally hold Vthe latter in ,engagcment with the said toothed lever.
