To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, REGINALD EDGAR SEV- ERANCE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Healdsburg, in the county of Sonoma, State of California, have invented a new and useful Corner-Cleaning Implement; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

The present invention relates to a corner cleaning implement, and'has for its object to provide a device of this character which embodies novel features of construction whereby it can be conveniently used by painters and cleaners for loosening and removing accumulations of dust and dirt from corners and other inaccessible places which could not be cleaned with an ordinary brush.

Further objects of the invention are to provide a device of this character which is comparatively simple and inexpensive in its construction, which can be conveniently carried upon the person of the workman, which can be easily manipulated by one hand, and which can be quickly reversed to bring either the scraping edges or the brushes into operative position.

With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in certain novel combinations and arrangements of the parts as will more fully appear as the description proceeds, the novel features thereof being pointed out in the appended claims.

For a fullunderstanding of the invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective view of a corner cleaning implement constructed in accordance with the invention.

Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view through the same taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 is a plan view of the blank from which the device is formed.

Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated in all the views of the drawing by the same reference characters.

Referring to the drawings, which illustrate one embodiment of the invention, the reference character A designates a stock which is formed of sheet metal and has an angular cross section, being constructed with wings 1 which arel arranged at an angle to each other and intersect in a corner extending longitudinally'of the stock at substantially the middle thereof. These wings l are shown as arranged at substantially right angles to each other, being slightly flared toward. one end of the stock, where they terminate in cooperating scraping edges 2 arranged in a plane at an angle to the longitudinal corner of the stock. A scraping point is thus provided which can be inserted into inaccessible corners for the purpose of loosening hardened accumulations of dust and dirt therein.

At the opposite end ofthe stock the wings l are provided with integral lateral extensions which are bent inwardly to provide sockets 3, the extremities of the extensions being curved at 2fL to form rounded corners at the inner sides of the sockets, and the space between the curved portions 3 of the wings and the corner of the stock being preferably filled with solder, as indicated at 4. The heads 5 of a pair of flat brushes 6 are fitted in the sockets 3, the brushes extendinglongitudinally from the end of the stock and having the same relation to each other as the wings l thereof, the innersides of the brushes meetingeach other in the line of the angular corner of the stock.

A finger ring 7 is provided upon the concave side of the stock and soldered or otherwise rigidly secured to the sides of the sockets 8. lhis linger ring is arranged in a plane at substantially right angles to the longitudinal axis of the stock, and is disposed between the ends of the stock, so that it provides a means for holding the tool when using either the scraping edges 2 or the brushes 6. It will be obvious that the entire device is very compactly constructed so that it can be conveniently carried in the pocket, and that when in use it can be almost instantly reversed to bring either the scraping edges or the brushes into operative position, thereby making it very easy to loosen and remove accumulations of dirt from corners from which it would be practically impossible to remove the dirt.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim as newand desire to secure by Letters Patent, is z- 1. A corner cleaning device including flat wings arranged at an angle and intersecting each other along a longitudinal edge of each wing, and flat brushes projecting longitudinally iom'the wings at one end thereof, said brushes being arranged in the planes of the respective wings.V

2. A corneicleaning device including flat Wings arranged at an angle and inter secting each other along a longitudinal edge of each Wing, each of the-wings being' provided with a longitudinally extending socket opening at the end thereof, and flat brushes projecting longitudinally Jfrom the said ends of the wings and having the heads thereof litted within the sockets, the brushes being arranged in the planes of the respecring disposed transversely with respect toV the plane of the wings and secured within the angular space between the wings, said wings extendingupwardly above the finger piece and providing a guard for the same.

4. A corner cleaning device including sheet. metal wings arranged at an angle to each other and provided at one end thereof with flattened sockets, flat brushes projecting from the said ends of the wings inthe saine angular relation as the wings and having the heads thereof` fitted within the sockets, and a finger ring arranged transversely with respectv to the wings and secured in the angle between the sockets.
