Be it known that 1. JOHN N. WELLS, a citizen of the lilnited States, residing at Lower Lake. in the county of Lake and (it of California, have invented new and useful improvements in Cigar-Holders, of which the. following;- is a specification.

This invention relates to a cigar holder and the primary object of the invention is to provide an article of manufacture of this character which is in the form of a sectional casing to enable a cigar when arranged therein to he smoked without likelihood of the ashes disfiguring the clothing of the wearer and also to enable a whole, or partialy consumed cigar to be carried within the pocket without. the cigar becoming cracked or broken.

Another object of the invention is to provide one of the casing sections with a spring clip which may not only be employed to retain the cigar engaged with one of the easing sections but may also he employed to engage the casing with the wall of a Pocketin the clothing oi the owner of the holder.

With these and other objects in view,

the invention resides in the novel combination and arrangement of parts, which will he hereinafter described and particularly pointed out in the claim.

The preferred embodiment of the invention has been illustrated in the accompanying drawing. although. no restriction is necessarily made to the precise details of construction therein shown, as changes, alterations. and modifications, within the scope of the. claim may he resorted to when desired.

The casing section 13 overlaps an end of the casing" section 12 with the overlapping portion of the casing section 13 threadedly connected. with the underlying portion of the casing section 12 the outer end of the casing section 13 has stretched there across a wire netting which, prevents the ashes which fall from an ignited cigar escaping from the holder.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it is at once apparent that a cigar holder has been provided which is comparatively ineX pensivejo manufacture and efiicient in the pur ose set forth.
