CIGAR MOUTH-PIECE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 319,165, dated June 2', 1885.
Application filed May 2, 1884.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM G. ANDERSON, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, haveinvented a new and useful Irnproveinentin Cigar Mouth-Pieces, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my tip or cigar holder. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of the same.
This invention relates to cigar-tips; and the novelty consists in the tip being made flexible and elastic and having a tubular re-enforcing portion inserted in the contracted part, all as will be hereinafter fully explained.
As shown in the accompanying drawings, Arepresents a short section of the tube, upon which is placed an elastic flaring-tube, B. This tube B is preferably somewhat smaller in diameter than the end of a cigar and designedly of the same shape or configuration, so that when it is placed over the end of a cigar it will grasp and hold the cigar tightly, with the end of the cigar resting against the tube A.
As shown in Fig. 2, the tubular part A is (No model.)
made of some hard substance, so that the exterior tube, B, need not he hardened or vulcanized.
The tube B is made of elastic material best adapted for the purpose, and should be of sufficient consistency to hold the cigar firmly.
It will be observed from the above description that I strongly re-enforce that part of the mouth-piece which is gripped between the teeth, leaving the partin front of it sufficiently flexible to accommodate itself closely to the tapered tip of a cigar.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new is A flexible and elastic cigar-tip havinga in bular re-enforcing portion inserted into the contracted portion thereof, substantially as described.
