The *detachable culi is. provided with button holes 7 for the cuii buttons 8a and said button holes arev designed to conform in size and location to the button holes 8 on the attached cuff.
The outer layer 1- of the detached cul, which comprises the two thicknesses of material and the inclosed stifener 3, is con nected by stitches 9, 'and at the upper edge of said member twoiines oflstitchesrll conneet the parts together.
v vFrom the foregoing it will be obvious that adetachable cui made in accordance with this invention may loe readily' laundried and can beslipped on over the ordinary attached cuil'l of a shirt, and will serve the'same as a clean cuil". It is a well known fact that cuffs attached to shirts become `soiled in a veryv short time,V while the rest of the shirt is comparatively clean, and it is for the purposeof covering the soiled cuff and giving a good clean appearance to the shirt, that thisinvention is designed.
vVarious changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spi-rit and scopeof the invention as defined in the` claim.
A detachable cud for shirts comprising a 4stili outer cuff or section including a single .piece of outer material folded back upon Aitself and having a stifener arranged therebetween and an inner soft section stitched -to the inner face of the outer section or cuit at the opposite end and one side longitue dinal edge thereof, said inner` soft section and theouter stift' section providing a pocket vto receive the cuff of an ordinary shirttherein, as and for the purpose specified.
