The principal object the invention is to provide. a helmet or headu covering, with a: curtaln capable of being closely folded: or
extended foruse.
A further object to providemeans coin bined with the curtain whereby itfmay be adjusted to any desired height relativeto the supporting elements, theourtain itself being substantially resistant to bullets or like proe jectiles.
These and other like objects are attained by the novel constructionandcombination of parts hereinafter described and shown in the accompanying drawing, forming a material part of this disclosure, and in which j j j Figure 1 is a perspectiveview, showing the application of the invention.

Copies of this patent may be obtainedfor means for winding said curtain, and a pair of undulating spring elements aflixed in front of said support bars whereby said curtain may be held in an adjusted position.
4:. In a head covering comprising a crown and rim, a pair of support bars rigidly engaged at the unction of said crown and rim, resilient undulating elements secured at their ends to the respective ends of said support bars, a curtain pendant therebetween, pulleys engaging with said support, a roller upon which said pulleys are mounted, said roller being secured in the upper ends of said curtain, and means on said roller for winding said curtain thereupon whereby said curtain may be raised or lowered, said roller being engageable by said undulating elements in any adjusted position.
