FASSET'I, a citizen of the United States, residing at Alderpoint, in the county of Humboldt and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Camp- Stoves, of which the following is a specifica tion, reference being had to the accompanying drawings. I

This invention relates to an improved camp stove, and has for its primary object to provide an article of this character consisting of a plurality of elements which may be easily and quickly assembled, to provide a rigid and substantial support for cooking utensils, and which may also be readily disassembled and the various elements compactly arranged so that they will occupy a minimum of space. V

It is another and more particular object of the invention to provide supporting legs pivotally connected to parts of'the stove structure and foldable with relation thereto, and means on the stove parts to limit the movement of the legs to their supporting positions. I

It is also a further general object of my invention to provide a camp stove wherein the several parts are of very simple form so that the device may be manufactured at small cost, and which will be very serviceable and convenient in practical use.

With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the improved combination, arrangement and construction of the several parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described, subsequently claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views and wherein,

Referring in detail to the drawing, 5 designates the two longitudinal side bars of the stove structure, each of which is provided in its upper edge with the spaced their ends upon the stud bolts 8 fixed in the bars 5. Each bar 10 is further provided centrally thereof with an additionaltransverse slot 12 which opens upon the opposite longitudinal edge of said'bar. In assembling the elements of the stove structure, the side bars 5 are arranged in spaced relation and the transverse bars 10 are then engaged with said side bars, the inclined slots 11 in the ends of the bars 10 being fitted downwardly through the slots 6 in the bars 5 and receiving the portions of said bars immediately, below the slots 6. Owing to the fact that the slots 11 in the ends of the loarsv 10 are inclined-inwardly from the ends of said bars, it will be manifest that the side bars 5 will be held at a vertical inclination, extending inwardly from their lower to their upper longitudinal edges. The supporting legs 7 at the ends of these side bars when disposed in operative positions against the stop pins 9 are likewise inclined inwardly transversely of Y relation with the central slots 12'in'the transverse bars 10 and the bar 13 then forced downwardly so that it will enter the slots 12 while the bars 10 are engaged in the slots 14. Thus the several elements of the-stove sired to transport the same, it is only necessary to remove the bar 13 and then disengage the ends of the bars 10 from the sides of the bars 5. Finally, the legs '7 are folded inwardly to lie alongside of the bars 5 in parallel relation thereto, and then all of the several parts can be disposed upon each other in superposed relation and the whole rolled or wrapped with a piece of canvas or other suitable covering, or they may be simply tied together at their ends.

From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it will be seen that I have devised a very simple and durably constructed stove for camp use which will be highly serviceable and convenient; The stove may be easily and quickly setup, or the several parts thereof disassembled and compactly stored away in a relatively small space. The bars may be of any desired length so as to produce a stove structure of predetermined dimensions. In view of the very simple form of elements employed, it will be further appreciated that the device as a whole can be manufactured at'comparatively small cost.

While I have herein shown and described the preferred construction and arrangement of the various parts it will be understood that the device is susceptible of considerable modifications therein, and I therefore reserve the privilege of adopting all such legitimate changes as may be fairly embodied within the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

I claim:

1. A device of the character described ineluding a series of spaced longitudinal bars, means detachably connecting the bars to each other and locking them against relative longitudinal or lateral movement, said means eo-acting with the outer longitudinal side bars to maintain the same in oppositely disposed, obliquely inclined planes, and means for supporting said bars in an elevated position.

2. A device of the character described including longitudinal side bars, a plurality of cross bars having means on their opposite ends for detachable engagement with the re spective side bars to position the latter in vertically inclined planes, an intermediate longitudinal bar, said intermediate bar and the cross bars having coa-cting means to detachably retain the intermediate longitudinal bar in connection with the cross bars, and supporting means connected to the ends of said longitudinal side bars.

3. A device of the character described including outer longitudinal side bars, a plurality of cross bars each provided in its opposite ends with obliquely inclined transverse slots open upon oneedge of the bar and adapted to receive said longitudinal side bars to position the latter bars in vertically inclined planes, and supporting means connected to the ends of said longitudinal side bars.

4. A device of the character described including outer longitudinal side bars, a plurality of cross bars each provided in its opposite' ends with obliquely inclined transvers slots open upon one edge of the bar and adapted to receive said longitudinal side bars to position the latter bars in vertically inclined planes, an intermediate longitudinal bar having means for detachable engagement with said transverse bars, and supporting legs pivotally connected to the ends of the longitudinal side bars and foldable against the outer sides of said bars, when the parts are disassembled.
