To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Axmui VARAUD, a citizen of France, residing at GenevznC/anton of Geneva, in the Confederation of Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in T rousers- Crease Markers, of which the following is a specification.

The present invention relates to improvements in and relating to stretching devices adapted to maintain the original shape of certain parts of garments especially the creases of the legs of trousers during the use thereof.

This device consists in a resilient member or strip made for instance of celluloid, wood, whale-bone, steel spring blade or other suitable material adapted to be fixed under the turned up lower end portions of trousers to mark, and assist in maintaining the creases therein.

The accompanying drawing illustrates by way of example several embodiments of the invention.

The Figures 1 to 7 relate to a device adapted to be fixed in the turned up portion of the lower part of the legs of trousers.

Figs. 1 and 2 show such a device formed by the combination of two spring blades.

Fig. 3 shows a device formed by a single spring blade.

Fig. 4: is a view of a device formed by two movable spring blades.

Fig. 5 is a variation of the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 and Figs. 6 and 7 are detail views showing the connection of the ends of two spring blades forming the device.

In all the embodiments of the invention. shown in the drawings the part named spring-blade may be made of an elastic strip either of metal, or wood or celluloid, or whale-bone or other suitable material.

The embodiment shown in Fig. 1 comprises twospring-blades a and b the ends of which are connected together by clips 0 in order to form two projecting beaks designed to mark the front and back creases of the bottom of trousers.

Each clip a is riveted at the end of one of the blades and adapted to engage by frietion the end of the other blade and viceversa. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 the blades a and b are combined with double clips (Z each forming an acute angle and engaging by friction the ends of the sai blades a and b.

In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the crease-fixing device comprises only a single spring blade (1, which is bent so as to be U- shaped and to have its ends disposed in order to form between them a hinge e in which a pin 0 is engaged for maintaining the whole device in the form shown in the drawing. The hinge c is adapted to fix the front crease of the trousers.

This figure shows also that the spring blade may be covered by a material such as canvas 7' to prevent its edges from wearing the cloth of the trousers.

The ends of the spring blades may be connected together by means of clips of different kinds and shapes, or by means of rivets.

The device may also be made of two bent spring-blades, the one of which being U- shaped and the other V-shaped as shown in Figs. 4 and 5. These spring blades may be connected together by means of clips 0 and c (Fig. 1) fixed on the branches of one blade and into which the branches of the other blade are engaged. Or one of the blades may be provided with flat-headed pins 17 each of which engages a slot 8 provided in the other blade. According to Fig. 6 the ends of the spring blades may also be connected by a flat headed pin p provided on one end of the blade and engaging a slot 8 in the other end of the blade, the end of the blade carrying the pin 79 being bent over the end of the other blade provided with the slot 8 As shown in Fig. 7 one of the blades may be provided near its end with a claw g which is engaged with a hole provided in the other blade also near its end and bent over, the end of one blade overlapping the end of the other in order to prevent a displacement of the blades relatively to each other.
