This invention: relates to wearing apparel, the invention being moreparticularly directed toward a belt worn around the "waist.

The object of the invention is to provide a belt and buckle in which the row of unsightly eyelets which commonly appear in all belts for purposes of ad ustlng the length of the belt are largely done away with, and

,to provide'a buckle which hides the eyelets by which the belt is made adjustable.

Generally speaking, the nvention comprises the elements and combinations thereof set forth in the accompanying claims.

A belt buckle having a back member and a cover member which are pivotally secured together, the said members cooperating to form a box-like structure, means carried by one of said members adapted to receive and retain an end of a belt, a pin carried by one of said members and adapted to receive an eyelet of a belt, the back member of the buckle being provided with an openin adapted to receive the free end of the be t which lies beyond the said post.

3. A belt buckle having a back member and a cover member, means carried by one of said members for receiving and retaining the end of a belt, said means lying between the back member and the cover member, a pin carried by one of said members adapted to receive an eyelet of a belt, said post also lying between the back member and the cover member, the back member being provided with an opening, which opening lies adjacent the means for holding one end of the belt, the said opening being adapted to receive the free end of the belt.

4. A belt buckle comprising a back member and a cover member, a clamping device carried by the cover member, said clamping device adapted to receive the end of a belt, an opening formed in the back member, said opening being in position opposite to the said clamp, a member adapted to engage with an eyelet of a belt, said member being carried by the back member of the belt and positioned so as to be well removed from the end of the back member.
