To all whom it'mdy 00m Be 1tknownthat I, Josnrrr TURonK, a
citizen of 'the rUnited States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of. Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in -Display Stands, of which the following isaspecification. 7. v This invention, relates to certain new and useful improvements in display stands.
V ,The primary object of the invention is the provision of a display device for any desirable articles, the same being provided with revolublemeans for attracting theattention of the public as well as for the purpose of rendering the articles viewabl from all'sidesthereofn I A further object of the device is toprovide a revolving display case capable of exhibiting article's" contained therein and ar ranged with a top compartment serviceable for such purposes as the holding of a phonograph for making suitable announcements, a propelling motor for the device being arranged at the base thereof.
With these general objectsin view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same con sists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the appended" claims.
In the drawing forming a part of this application and in which like numerals refer to corresponding parts throughout the several views, V
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the device with ,a portion removed. 7
Figs. 2 and 3 are horizontal transverse sectional views taken respectively upon lines II-II and III.III of Fig.1.
Fig.4 is a horizontal sectional view, taken adjacent the lower portion of the device.
Fig. 5 is an enlarged detail horizontal sectional view through one of the detach able connections, and, 7
.Figs. 6 and 7 illustrate in perspective the details of one of the locking connections for. the separable sections of the device.
Referringmore in detail to the drawing,
the present display case 10 is of a general cylindrical form being revolubly mounted in an upright position upon a base 11 and able exteriorly. r
of one section thereof" adapted to be tor -12.
' Specification of Le'tters Patent Patented;Marl-5,1918; Applicationfiledllliarch 21,1917. sea 156,27 r i it revolved thereonjby a mo- The case. 10 isformed of twooppositelyj" positioned-identical sections 13 and-14 semicircular in cross sect on each ofthe' same,
having a glass wall 15, while a partition l6 is carried by thesection 14 being of circular I formation and providing a chamber in-the upper part ofthe caselO. 1
1 It willbe understood that circular top liofthe case is formed of two semi;
circular portions one of which is carriedby the top ofeach of the sections 13 andl14L. A'-
glass panellS is provided in each {side of the upper portion of the case having a pack-".
Radially projecting arms 27' are carried Braces 26 connect the by the shaft 21 for supportingarticles tobe V displayed such as neck ties and other wear ing "apparel, the same being readily viewj able through the glass sides115 of thecase during the revolving thereof underithe in-' fluence of the motor 12. Each ofthei case sections 13 and'14e is provided with a tray 28 of semi-circular form at the bottom thereof mounted upon the'strips 25, the said case, the trays having central recesses 29 u for accommodating the shaft '21 therein;
The side moldings 30 of the sections 13 and i 14 are adapted for edge engagement, the
said molding of one of the. sections such as V 13 being provided with a plurality of plates 31 with headedstuds32'thereon adapted to be received within key hole slots 33' provided in plates 34: securedjto the molding 30 of the opposite section such as 14. By
this arrangement it will be understood that the section 13 is permanently secured to the i strips 25 mounted by means of the track f the track 24 and is in constant mesh with a'suitable train of gears 36 with the power shaft 37 of the motor 12, it being understood that the said motor'may be either a spring, electric or any form of motor found desirable. v V
A display case arranged in each section or halfsuch as lat is'readily removable for arranging articles to be displayed upon the arms 27 while, the manner of gaining entrance to the case will not be readily lapparent when the device is assembled to any person unfamiliar with the details of co nstru'ction thereof. hen the motor 12 is set in motion the case with its inclosed articles is caused to revolve while advertising matter may be arranged behind the upper 3 glass 7 panel 18 if desired and a configuration or any desirable device may be arranged in the Copiesof this patent maybe obtained for tion 16. hat I claim, as new is upper chamber of the'case; uponvthe parti i 1. A device o f the class described coin prising two semi-cylindrical hollow sections,g
detachable connections for the said sections concealed when the device isassembled, a =5 V partition spaced through the upper end of,
the device forming a top chamber thereim;
transparentpanels for. the main portion of the sections, advertisement display panels at the upper end of each section and revolving n'ieans for the sections.
2. A device of the; class described coma prising two seml-cylmdrical hollow sections,
detachable connections for the'said sections concealedv when thefdevice is assembled, aor partition spaced through the upper endof the device forming a top chamber therein transparent panels forth'e mam portion of the sections, a li ;ertisenie11t display panelsat the upper end of each section, a supporting base, a'shaft axially arranged through the motor carried bythe base nectedto the said gear. r In testimony whereof I afiix my signature."
