ma ma I may also employ shoulder straps indi cated at3l each of which may be suitably connected at one end to the upper portion of the continuous front member 10 and at the other end to one of the back members. Also as indicated in the drawing the back mem-. bers 11 and 12 may be provided with additional reinforcing straps 32 and the continuous front member may be made in several parts which are suitably joined along the lines of stitching indicated at 33.
In the use of this garment, as no doubt will be understood, the adjustable lacing devices are loosened, the garment placed on the body, and the adjacent edges of the back members connected by the hooks and eyes as shown, or other similar means provided for this purpose. The tapes 26 and 30 are then drawn from the outer ends to adjust the continuous front member to position relative to the back members so as to properly and adequately support the busts of the wearer and the tapes than tied or otherwise secured relatively to one another to maintain the parts of the garment in their adjusted positions.
I claim as my invention:
1. As a new article of manufacture, a brassiere comprising a front member, back members, and devices for adjustably connecting the front member to the back members at the axillary line of the garment, which devices extend to and through the lower front central portion of the frontmember where they are adapted to be connected to one another.
2. As a new article of manufacture, a brassiere comprising a front member, back members, means for connecting the adjacent edges of the back members to one another, and lacing devices for adjustably connecting thefront member to the-back members at the axillary lines of the garment, which lacing devices extend to the lower central portion of the front member where they are adapted to be connected to one another.
As a new article of mannfactlu'e, a
.biiassiere comprising a continuous front member extending from one axillary line to the other, back members, and lacing de- "vices for adjustably connecting the front member to the back members at the adjacent edges thereof, which lacing devices extend to the lower central portion of the front member where they are adapted to be con-- nected to one another. I
at. As a new article of manufacture, a brassiere comprising a continuous front member extending from one axillary line to the other, back members, means for connecting the adjacent edges of the back members to one another, and lacing devices for adjustably connecting the front member to the back members at the adjacent edges thereof, which lacing devices extend to the lower central portion of the front member where they are adapted to be connected to one another.
5. As a new article of manufacture, a
member extending from one axillary line'to the other and shapedto' conform withthe configuration of the wearer, back members,
means for connecting the adjacent edges of the back members to one another, and lacing devices each consisting of a series of laces extending through eyelets provided therefor in the forward edge of aback member and also through corresponding eyelets provided therefor in the adjacent edge of the front member, the said laces extending forwardly to the lower central portion of the froht member where they are adapted to be connected to one another.
6. .As a new article of manufacture, a brassiere comprising a continuous front member extending from one axillary line to the other and shaped to conform with the configuration of the wearer, back members, means for connecting the adjacent edges of the back members to one another, lacing devices each consisting of a series of laces ex- 7 anember, and a tape secured to each series of laces the said ta )es extendin forwardly and passing: through slots provided therefor 1n the lower central portion of the front member where the tapes are adapted to be connected to secure the parts in position on the body of the wearer. j
