M v inention relates tooveralls and like nnon garments for outside weer and particularly to overalls for womens wear and my invention has vi'orits object to provide a combination strap andwaist band adapted for use with and forming part of such garinent which will be simple, inexpensive and strong and will also-serve to form a high back for the garment. w

With this object in view my invention consists 4in the construction and combina-4 tion of elements claimed.

Referring to the drawings: Figure l is a front view of a pair of overalls provided with the combination strap and waist band embodying my invention. Fig. Q is a back view of the sameand Fig. 3 is a detail `view of the two straps. ln the drawings 1 indicates the leg portion of the overalls which in the construction shown are made quite full and are proh'ereinafter described and vided near their lower ends with plaits 2 secured to straps or bands 3 and having side openings 4 extending from the Waist band down along the hips toward the knees and provided with suitable fastening devices 5. The front'portion of the waist band extending across the front of the garment from one side opening4-to the other is of usual construction andabove this portion of the Waist band isa bib 7. The construction thus my present' far described formsno' part of invention and may. be as shown vvaried in accordance with lstruction of such garments.

being arranged at an obtuse angle one with the other as shown the outside lines of the two portions coming together at an obtuse point ll. and the inside lines forming a curve as shown :1t-l5. The two pieces l0 and 1IV are identical in shaperbut the face ot' thc material and the iinishing of one is so arranged thatits upright or strap portion will extend in one direction and the upright o r strap portion ofthe' other will extend in the other direction as shown and the horizontal or waist band portion 'will likewise extend in opposite directions. The two pieces suitably hemmed or otherwise finished 'along' their edges and provided in their upare placed one over the other with the upright or strap portions pointing` outward in different directions as shown and with the horizontal or waist band portions litrewise extendingl in opposite directions and the two pieces are stitched or .otherwise secured together as by lines. of stitching i8 and the hack portion of the waist band formed Yb v the portions 13 of the two pieces is then secured to the garment.

The button holes 16 and' A17 are adapted to be fengagred with buttons 20 on the bib 'i'. The straps being integral with the back the Waist band cannot be detached and the portion of one piece which overlies the other forms above the points 14 a high back to protect the wearer of the overalls.

The'two' pieces 1.0 and 11 being of the both be out by the same pattern though the material of course in cutting one will be so arranged that its face will be upward and' for the' other will be cut at the same time the pattern after one is -cnt may be simplT turned over for cutting the other. By snitably arranging the patterns the pieces may be cut from the material' with very little Waste. v

.The combined strap and Waist band thus formed may be used with any form of garment in which suspender straps are used. The angle of the strap and waist band p0rtion to each other may be varied as desired and the curve of the /inner lines may be varied to make the vertical line extending upward from the points 14 longer or shorter as may be desired so es to Ineke the back formed by the overlying portions more or ieee high as desired.

Having thus described my invention what claim is:
