When thecoperator desires' to release the swatter he may doso by pulling upon the trigger 6 and the bridge will cause the ring 9 to be released from the hook and the leaf spring 3 will cause the swatter to assume the position as shown in Fig. 2 ofthe drawings.

Having thus fully described my invention, what l claim as new and desire to secure by v. Letters Patent is:

leaf spring secured within said handle and'` having one end normally resting upon said trigger, a swatter carried by the opposite end of said leaf spring, means for connectingthe free end of said SWatter tosaid trigger and means formed with the handle for releasing the swatter from said trigger when the trigger is moved substantially as and for the purpose specified.

A yygun ofthe character described comprising a handle, a trigger pivotally mounted within said handle, a hook formed with said trigger, a leaf spring, one end of said leaf spring being secured Within said handle and normally resting against said trigger, a swatter carried by the opposite end of said leaf spring, a link connected to said leaf spring, a ring carried by said link, a bridge formed with said handle, said hook carried by said trigger normally resting Within said bridge, said ring adapted to be 10 connected to vsaid hook and said bridge adapted to cause said ring to be released from said hook When the trigger has been moved substantially as and for the purpose specified.
